It is with an immense amount of sadness that we share the news of Bobby's tragic passing. Anyone who has visited the Portal since his arrival here knows how dedicated he was to our friends, family, and guests. I have not met someone that could truly connect with people in the way he was so naturally able. He is cherished by so many, and will be so deeply missed beyond words.

Soon we will share details of a benefit show we will have to celebrate the life he led, and the family he fostered here with proceeds going to his family for his memorial.

For the foreseeable future, we will run a 'give what you can' benefit fund for this cause as well.

Bobby was so much more to me than my coworker, since I moved to Savannah he quickly became a dear friend of mine, a mentor and partner in crime in our many hours shared in and out of this bar. The laughs we shared were some of my heartiest. I know that with the deep love of this bar and the people in it that we shared he wants his passioned work here to be furthered.

We love you Bobby.

With love,

Lex and the Portal Family by @savannahsarcade

@neurosoundbookingpresents is stoked to announce this Sunday evening postpunk/indierock/folkrock shinding, coming to @savannahsarcade on Sunday July 19th @kinginyellowband is a Hudson Valley-based post-punk and gothic rock band originating from Kingston, New York. Known for their signature "heavy jangle" sound that mixes psychedelic rock with driving, ominous energy, they are a staple of the local underground music scene of NY.

Joining them will be two newer Savannah bands:

@gunwales912 who bring the heat with their indie take on southern rock. Packed with thin Lizzy style harmonies guitar licks and one of the best vocalist in the Savannah region with strong vocal front man @not_yard.

Kicking the night off we have one of Savannah's newest super groups. @_speed70_ bringing their romantic southern gothic folk style that can only be compared to Mj Lenderman, Songs Ohia, Jason Molina, but with an array of Savannahs best singer song writers. I caught their debut show on a Sunday in a back yard and they were impressive.
It's to be expected with @dustinprice + Lakin and Shae of @nancybasically at the vocal helm + the perfect light handed drummer @sick.ham to round things off.
I'm left trying to figure out which rotating singer I like best!! You really should get there early enough to check them out and decide for yourself. They might end up being your new favorite Savannah band.

SEE YOU THERE ON SUNDAY JULY 19th
