Aún recuerdo perfectamente ese día, hace 16 años, cuando me dijiste: «Sara, he oído que han abierto una nueva escuela de esgrima en el Ateneo. Me voy a apuntar, ¿te apetece venirte conmigo?». A lo que contesté… «¿Yo? Yo no hago deporte». Y nos echamos a reír.

Poco me podía imaginar en ese momento que años después yo llegaría hasta a competir internamente y que, para ti, esa escuela y las maravillosas amigas que allí hiciste acabarían convirtiéndose en una segunda familia.

Hoy han pasado casi tres meses desde que te fuiste, y este domingo la escuela te rinde homenaje con un torneo. ¿Qué mejor regalo para ti y para ellos, que siempre nos han querido tanto, que crear estos dos muros en tu memoria y escribir en la pared tu nombre, junto al armero donde colgaban tu careta y espada?

Sé que allá donde estés te estarás tomando un vermú a nuestra salud, riendo y orgullosa de que te recordemos con tanto amor y alegría.

Te quiero, mamá. ✨🤍🤺

I still remember perfectly that day 16 years ago when you told me: “Sara, I heard they’ve opened a new fencing school at Ateneo, I’m going to sign up, do you want to come with me?” To which I replied… “Me? I don’t do any sports.” And we both burst out laughing.

Little did I imagine at that moment that years later I would even end up competing internally and that for you, that school and the wonderful friends you made there would become a second family.

Today marks almost three months since you left us, and this Sunday the school is paying tribute to you with a tournament. What better gift for you and for them, who have always loved us so much, than to create these two walls in your memory and write your name on the wall, next to the armory where your mask and sword hung?

I know that wherever you are, you’ll be having a vermouth in our honor, laughing and proud that we remember you with so much love and joy.
