Did you know packers can call honey on grocery store shelves “US Honey” as long as it just has 10% US honey in it? The 90% can be anything from high fructose corn syrup to cheap, foreign honey (that is also probabaly mixed with different sugars). Low honey prices, combined with massive adulteration hurts our nations beekeepers and makes maintaining and repopulating hives a major struggle.

That’s why I started @savethebloom. I’ve been working with beekeepers for my entire working adult life and could see the stark reality of honeybee losses and its impact on our food supply in real time in 2024/2025. No bees means no food. We would be a society living off of corn, oat, soy and wheat. Everything else you love to eat requires honeybee pollination. Even meat… special “Alfalfa-cutting Bees” are sent to cattle pastures in the Colorado and surrounding regions for beef.

We need to do everything we can to help beekeepers maintain and repopulate hives. Buying the right honey and knowing where it came from is essential ❤️
