MARIO (Long Long)

We rescued Mario from the streets of Harbin four years ago. His ears were full of tumors - the worst case we had seen.

The vets performed a few surgeries - one ear healed well, the other didn’t. He needed more surgeries, but that whole area swole up and kept oozing.

Last month Mario had a CT so the vets could locate the cause of his issues. After the CT they did one more surgery, and I’m very happy to say the wound healed really nicely and there is no more swelling.

This means Mario can be adopted and I’m determined to get him out of China. He is mostly deaf because the ear drums in both ears were removed. He loves people but can be picky with other dogs.

We will be organising a flight to the US. He could also fly to the UK. If you are interested in giving Mario a home, send us an email to savingharbindogs@gmail.com

Please, help us share this post so Mario is seen by more people.

We have raised $170 towards our large safehouse auntie and uncle salaries. Thank you to the very few people who donated 🙏

We are still $1030 away from our goal. I feel sad because we always struggle to raise money to pay people who look after our dogs. I am not sure why 😔

They work so hard, live with our dogs, and it’s 24/7 care for the dogs. Someone asked me if we could get volunteers to look after the dogs. But volunteer do things for free and they can cancel anytime. What would happen with dogs if the volunteers decided they didn’t want to come?

Please, their work is vital for our rescue. There is no way we can keep the rescue going without them.

Silverbelle was saved from a meat market. The shelter auntie noticed something was wrong with her and rushed her to the clinic where she had emergency surgery for pyometra. She recovered and then waited in the large shelter for her chance to leave.

Last Sunday we took a large group of dogs saved from dog meat trade and Silverbelle was one of them. She was checked in our clinic and then went to our special needs safehouse.

She has already had two medicated baths and hopefully will recover soon. She is already spayed and will start vaccinations when her skin is better.

Silverbelle will be looking for a home where she will be loved and never abandoned.

Our large dog safehouse auntie and uncle work very hard and take care of our 50 dogs 24/7.

They feed them, clean after them, play with them, take them to the clinic when needed, appt and administer medicine. They are a vital part of our rescue and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

I need to pay them for their work and I’m asking for your help to raise $1200 which is 8000 RMB.

Our dogs love them and the auntie is so good looking after our puppies and senior dogs as well.

Every time I try to raise money to pay our caretakers our posts are ignored. I really hope today this post will get as much interaction as possible. THANK YOU

Binky is one of the seventeen dogs we took in last Sunday.

She was rescued from a meat market and then placed in the large overcrowded shelter and kept outside in a dirty cage outside with temperatures around 4-5 degrees at night.

A kind supporter asked me to get her out of there and she has also sponsored her intake tests, vaccines, spay surgery. Thank you, Tessa ❤️

Binky was examined and luckily apart from the awful skin disease she is in good health. We sent her to the special needs safehouse where she can have a medicated math every few days which will get the skin sorted in a short time.

Binky is about 7 years old and weighs 3 kg. I can’t wait to see her strong and healthy.

We saved Sunshine from a dog abuser who used to post videos of him abusing the dogs on youtube.

A kind UK lady contacted me and asked to help get this dog away from him. She negotiated with him and he let us pick up Sunshine.

We got Sunshine vaccinated, spayed and prepped for her travel to the UK. Both Sunshine and her adopter (the kind lady who got her away from that awful man) waited patiently and finally last weekend they finally met.

Sunshine is doing really well - she used to be a very shy pup, she got better in our safehouse and in her new home she already made a lot of progress.

I’m so happy to know another lucky pup made it of out China and is now in a loving home.

I want to introduce two more pups from the group of seventeen that arrived into our care last Saturday.

The poodle was saved from dog meat trade, came pregnant and gave birth to one puppy. I saw them in the first video and I decided I wanted to get them out.

They were tested in our clinic, both are happy and both are doing well. They are now in our quarantine cages in the special needs safehouse.

The mum’s name is Eva and the puppy is Sammy. Let’s hope they stay healthy so we can get them ready for their future lives.

Look at our handsome Kenny

Rescued from a meat market, then placed in the large dirty shelter. He came so scared, thin, and with some wounds on his body.

Kenny is happier now. He put on 6 kg and looks strong and healthy. He finished his vaccines and was neutered ten days ago.

Seeing dogs transform and become more confident and more comfortable is a really rewarding feeling.

I really hope I can arrange the best future for our gentle boy.

💔Our beautiful Nora is gone💔

Nora didn’t have a good life. Used for breeding, then ended up at a meat market. Was rescued, but came with distemper sequelae.

When she was first examined by our vets they told us her lungs were in very bad condition - all thanks to the awful distemper virus. We made sure she got stronger and got everything we needed. And she did put on weight, but had a few visits to the clinic when she struggled to breathe.

I saw Nora three days ago, and I held her for an hour. I had a feeling she was not doing too well. Yesterday morning our caretakers noticed she struggled to breathe and her tongue turned purple. She rushed Nora to the clinic, they gave her oxygen therapy and tried to give her medication to help the lungs but it didn’t help.

Nora was in distress and couldn’t breathe. With a broken heart I had to make the decision to let her go. Her caretaker held her in her arms and made sure Nora was with a person who loved her.

I am devastated by this. Nora had a potential home. And it’s so so sad she didn’t make it out of here.

I’m so glad I got to spend time with her three days ago. I’m glad she had a few months with us and knew love.

Nora, no more pain and no more struggle to breathe. I promise you will not be forgotten. Love you forever ❤️❤️❤️ by @savingharbindogs

Lots of new intakes the last two days.

These three were discarded and left in a local pet boarding place. They asked us to take them and find them home.

All three are now with us. They had a bath, and will be checked in the clinic this week. Older dogs, tiny in size. One is blind, one has a heart problem. The girl seems to be without a big health issue.

We will start preparing them to leave China. If anyone is interested in adopting or taking into their rescue please send me an email to: savingharbindogs@gmail.com

Four lucky pups arrived in France today and started new lives

June, Sukie and Teddy were rescued from dog meat trade by local rescuers and with the help of our amazing friends @helping_paws_for_corgis who fundraised for their bills and who found them amazing homes these three dogs are now with their new families.

Tiffany was dumped in our safehouse in the early our and we caught it on our surveillance feed. She was only a few months old. We got her ready to travel and today she met her new mum and dad who waited patiently for her to arrive.

So excited to see updates from these four families - seeing our dogs happy and loved is what this is all about.
