we got the noggin computer turned up, heart cracked open, & celebrated my bday for 9 days. today we weep at whole foods and get more scans… but reflect on a whole lot of joy and much gratitude. i promise i’m done now, but not that sorry for my 🎉 spam after the big stuff we survived.

i highly recommend a 9-day bday because life is hard but you are amazing. and will be watching this backlit Teton sunset for the foreseeable future 💕 it’s right near where i used to visit the grizzlies

thank you to all my humans. thankful to keep building 💫

RIP grizzly 399. thank you for taking care of me on this planet with your messages of perseverance and the power of challenging norms to create a different reality (how she raised so many babies successfully by being creative and consistent.) now you will be one of the angels for so many 🙏 we love you! by @savlav

big soup energy out there tonight & this is another favorite feeling ✨

reminder that the overwhelming majority of eat*ng d*sorders will not *look* the way your health book may have taught you.

bodies get better and better at holding on, & behaviors get better and better at hiding.

an*rexia, (what i was dealing with in this very moment before treatment 12 years ago) is defined as the inability to nourish oneself. if you pay attention to pet medication ads, it’s also a side effect of some dog Rxs.

an*rexia doesn’t have a look, many times bodies look very safe… but are significantly undernourished… and are eating other structures on the inside. bones, teeth, nerve paths, eyes… and it’s not the stuff that Megan Trainor said it would be when she said she didn’t have enough willpower to have an ED :’/ .

i do not believe in sharing my meal plan, or any of my numbers, but at the time of this photo, i was unable to nourish beyond one snack a day… and was still going on fasted runs and going to hot yoga. and i was silently falling apart.

so in a time where your instagram may be pushing RiB FlArE, HiP dIpS, LoOkSmAxXxInG and apps to achieve the RiGhT pRoPoRtIoNs… its so important to find the people who feed & support the parts of you that might be hidden. where you might be starving. for community, nourishment, or sneakily disappearing because life is really hard rn.

more than about 9x out of 10 this is not a visible issue.

i’m so thankful to be on this side right now. with a community that keeps me accountable. this is not about how we look, especially if dogs can experience disordered eating when on a medication. or people with degenerative brain disorders like dementia experience it.

it’s not about trying to lose weight a lot of the time. but it is about managing our world or other symptoms.

let’s have the hard talks, not download one more app. i love you ♥️
i have client openings comin soon. if your team isn’t complete, yet.

the past months have been some of the longest years of life. loss, changes, ties severed. weird sneakiness around us all.

rather than come at any of the things… (sometimes needed to shed light) i’d like to look at some moments of sweetness even in the mire.

because the sh*t of it is, we can snuggle even at a funeral.
we press on.

and it’s still okay to celebrate everything.

please enjoy Rocky’s sprinkler bidet and how i can’t get us all in a photo somehow.

in memory of Oupa, Hugh Arthur Eva and Lloyd Christmas. i love you infinitely ♥️

where hope lives- a mama poem ♥️

sometimes i try to remember
the sound of her heart from beneath it.
that’s how much i trust her, right?
her heart taught mine the rhythm.

but the work is so long,
sometimes months and years of trying.
so much longer than 9 months sharing a home and hope.
or 18 years
or 24 years
sometimes it’s 80 years of the holding

sometimes it’s a sentence to grief just as long.
since these bodies, brains, & worlds are forever changed by the chemistry of possibility of more life.

there has been so much more ‘mothering’ for my mama to do…
picking her adult child off the floor.
many times i didn’t recognize her.

there has been more learning for me. than 18 years.
waking up on the pavement, somewhere, in her arms,
my pulse coming back,
and my head on her heart, remembering.

i’m extra grateful for that, today.
for getting through it all (so far).
and for HER.

anyone on earth is a mother and their children.

this day is for the best heart-holder ever,
i’m so lucky i got to have this world with you @jamlav13

to all my mamas and anyone missing theirs, i love you ♥️ thank you for acknowledging the real heroes.

one of the wildest brain scans i’ve seen is that of a person feeling ‘kicked out’ of a group or ‘abandoned’.
it lights up the the same way as one threatened by a live weapon.

this matters x2 : 1. we do things we normally wouldn’t, stay in conversations, nod ‘yes’ to stay ‘part of’ groups… 2. exclusion crushes the person getting pushed out (even if it’s only imagined).

i’m hearing conversations where a person is discussed without them… both close to me & on a bigger scale.

conversations about them without them.

people are talking to effect change, right? to address faults/failures. but orbiting… not including the targets.

these talks are insidious in healthcare/healing worlds, and the intention is to raise the bar of care… but what results, is just gossip with a white coat.

what results, is communal shaming, possible misplaced judgement, groupthink, rallying, & even abuse.

conversations are repeated, not effective.
they’re changing relationships, though, bc we have different access & power as adults than we did at 5th grade lunch tables.

have you seen change come about
by talking about someone without them there?

it may seem like a secret, but the silence is not quiet.
if this happened to you growing up, in a friend group, or professionally… you know the vacuum of walking into these spaces.

i have seen these ‘well-intentioned’ talks morph into adult gossip that is truly damaging, i want to use the little reach i have to re-invite people to the table.

i think we change the world when we give people their voice (esp if that’s our alleged mission!) we offer opportunity when we take words where they belong, & if we are trying to be advocates— we need all the information.

this is how we raise the bar in our communities; by checking in, & deciding next steps accordingly.

i’m here to be at your table, honored for the chance.
inviting talks about how to do better…
is care.

i want you to tell me who you are, too.

thank you for your attention to this matter, bc apparently we don’t ever get to outgrow this stuff.

big love from down under ❤️‍🩹 by @savlav

POV: you have the desire to build something new
and the way to accomplish it starts appearing

… even things you thought improbable.

8 years of Evergreen Healing is something i’m so happy for, full of big lessons, and a reminder that healers can still be healing, too. we even make pretty dang good ones 🫶

i got a call that Evergreen Healing is part of Best of Utah 2026!
it wasn’t printed but i tied with one of the badasses that i’m proud to be among.

thank you for the honor again this year! and since i’m not in print (just online), i wanted to celebrate a few little mentions from the past editions 💪

also remembering the ones who helped me build this amazing container- in every stage. and shoutout to my dad for tearing down a barn to build my dream wall. this really is a team build.

i’m so so proud of this thing that we made together, so please join me in a remembering:

there are big things we’re afraid to begin… but we find out, they were always going to be part of the adventure.

so we can start today, or next year, or in ten, but it’s already part of you

the desire to make this thing sparks up, and the path starts unfolding right in that moment… though winding and dangerous and stuff.

thank you to all my Pinecones (current client squad) and Evergreen Graduates! this work is my heart, and so is our community ♥️
