No such thing as spare time for us!

Feels like we’re working 8 days a week at the moment.
🫠

Between working full-time and working on the house renovation, every moment in between is spent researching, learning, designing, making countless decisions and shopping for materials. There just never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Anyone else really struggling juggling all the balls of a diy renovation?

How I thought our summer would look 🌴☀️🍹
vs
how it actually looked 🛠️🪚😅

I was dreaming of tropical beaches, sunshine and cocktails… but instead, I got dust, DIY, demolition and a full-on house renovation project.

At least we made one discovery that helped us get through renovating during all the heatwaves we’ve had in the UK this year. Watch until the end to see how we survived 😂

I can see clearly now the rain has gone…🎶

We changed our old 1930’s single glazed windows to new energy efficient acoustic windows.

Who knew there are so many options when it comes to windows. From style, colour, material, glass type and even handles. We were torn for ages between the flush and casement windows.

See what we went for in the end and let us know if you would have gone for the casement or flush style?

When the ceiling comes with a surprise…😬

Removing old polystyrene ceiling tiles during our renovation - and underneath? Potentially something much more serious: asbestos.

Luckily for us, after sending off a sample for testing, the results came back clear. However, this is a good reminder that you never really know what’s hiding beneath decades-old finishes in an older house. Before disturbing anything suspicious, stop and get it properly assessed ⚠️

One minute you’re doing a bit of DIY… the next you’re questioning every corner of the house 🫣

One strip at a time. 🏠✨

Current DIY mission: removing layers upon layers upon layers of old wallpaper. As with any period property, there is wallpaper EVERYWHERE! On every wall, every corner and every ceiling. Each layer with its own story throughout the years.

One room down, and a few hundred layers of wallpaper to go! 😅

Breaking ground! 👷🏻‍♂️👷🏻‍♀️

First job on the list is the removal of the wall between the bathroom 🛁 and toilet 🚽on the first floor to hopefully turn it into a luxurious family bathroom.
