Not one, but two events were on the agenda for the release of STRÖM's third album...

...'Mer Ström åt folket' yesterday, and what a day it was!

Sometimes I feel blessed to live in Växjö, plenty of great local bands and apparently - though I have lived here most my life - there are absolutely beautiful venues I have never been to, Until last night, that is.

But let's start from the first event held at a record store downtown called Mono where @strom.officiell played a short acoustic set to promote their new album. As they got back from their gig the night before at five in the morning - and this was around lunchtime - they looked surprisingly full of energy, played three songs, told the crowd this was only the second time someone was treated with 'STRÖM utan ström' (that is an unplugged show) and other interesting tidbits before ending the event with a meet and greet where it was possible to buy their new album and get it signed by the members.

In the evening there was another event - at the venue I mentioned before, @nygatan6 - with another local band, Misfit Maniacs, as the opener. The young ladies did a great job in hyping up the crowd! Last time I saw @misfitmaniacs live was at their release party about a year ago, I made a post or two on that event as well for those who want to check it out.

Not long after Misfit Maniacs finished their 'svettlist', STRÖM entered the stage, now no longer unplugged 😎

With a mix of new and older songs the band had the crowd shouting and jumping in no time and received so much love in return they almost got emotional. So many special moments during the show, which culminated with the singer draped in our region's flag. A truly excellent show in front of extatic local fans and others that travelled several hours to experience this night!

I met these fine gentlemen...

...at Time to Rock back in July. They were really a bunch of nice guys!

The vitamin shot we all need this time of year...

I went to see @akubi_madjamie / @kawaii_wa_fxxk for the second time in a few days and the fourth time ever - in Västervik on the 10th of this month - which actually places her in a pretty select group of artists and bands that I have seen four times

She is also the artist I have the most chekis together with and by far the most merch from 😊

You may or may not know, I'm pretty easily bored and many times seeing a band once or even watching a few songs is more than enough for me. But not when it comes to this truly energetic young lady!

This show was no exception to the rule, as always I left (after getting another cheki 😇) filled with so much energy the trip home felt shorter than ever.

The sound and lights were great - sending a thank you to @bryggaren_kulturscen_vastervik - and the talk event before the two shows was once again super fun. Sending a big thanks to @swejpnpa and the artists 🤘

When she says jump, you jump 😋

Seeing Garuda (and Mad Jamie) for the 2nd time in a week.

I read some fantastic advice on how to think when it comes to performances, "Always perform like it's the most important show ever, because for someone in the crowd it might be". Yuffie personifies that 😎 She is just a queen on that stage, hyping up the crowd while singing, screaming, performing.
The Intensity that she has every.single.time I have seen her is nothing short of spectacular!

No 11 The idea for the cheki in Västervik goes back a few days. After the last cheki (No 12) - in Linköping, I said thanks to Yuffie and went in for a fistbump, she offered a handshake, I changed and so did she. So in rock-paper-scissors the standing was 1-1 😋
In Västervik I said we need to decide who wins, and we did. Guess who won? 😉
What made me even more happy is that she said she wants revenge - Hopefully she's coming back to Sweden. As the queen of darkness around Christmas would be a good time, no? Any time is fine though!

No 12 This cheki I have named 'Death by Polkagris', Garuda is 'attacking' me with a hard Swedish candy stick 😉

How do you even follow up...

...the amazing show that Garuda put on?

Well, @akubi_madjamie is one of the most bubbly, energetic performers around.

Just watching her giving it her all makes you start sweating, and it's virtually impossible to not pump your fist, jump and rock out with her. There's never a dull second in her show, she's constantly jumping around and that of course also makes taking photos of her on stage quite a challenge. But a fun one 😊

Her show is super fun and the mix of super high energy songs with a couple of somewhat slower ones works like a charm.

Two great shows in one day at @skylten and as icing on the cake - my favourite cheki ever 🔥 Good times!

You can go see Mad Jamie - and Garuda - in Norrköping on Wednesday and/or Västervik on Thursday!

Yesterday was such a great day...

... spent at @skylten in Linköping.

J-pop vol. 3 - well the music related part - started out with a talk event where the two artists from Japan performing today, Garuda and Mad Jamie, were interviewed. Great way to get to know them better. Really interesting questions as well as answers! Thank you to @swejpnpa and of course the young ladies!

First out to perform live after the talk event was @garuda_announce (featured above) and I must say that that she is one of the most engaging, energetic performers I have experienced. I have seen her once before here in Sweden when she made quite the impession on me (check my post from her show in Växjö last year if you like), but this time she was even better, just commanding that stage - and the crowd 😋

Top notch performer and her industrial metal songs are just fire🔥

You can see both Garuda and Mad Jamie in Norrköping on Wednesday and Västervik on Thursday.
Go see them if you can!

Nanowar of Steel are... special😋

One of the most fun shows / experiences touring right now in my not so humble opinion 😉

Hilarious lyrics, colourful, extremely interactive with the crowd and to top it all, the 'Wall of Love'
And Good music!

Just go experience one of their shows, you won't be sorry.
I know the perfect place too! @nanowarofsteel are coming to @epicfestdk in April next year, that should be the perfect environment to rock out to them, to shake your heads, shake your booty and join in the fun 😎

So guys, I have some good news and some bad news...

...for all you HAGANE fans out there.

This will most likely be the last clip from Epic Fest in Denmark this year. Yeah, I know 😟
Not the best quality and it's kind of a bumpy ride too. It got increasingly hard making videos and taking shots during their show, the reason might be obvious after watching this clip.

On the upside, both HAGANE and I will be back in Denmark again next April 🤘
This of course makes me so very happy! Next year they will open the entire festival on the main stage and at a decent hour Japanese time.
I promise I will do my very best to do a bunch of new posts after that!

Also the young ladies have a very special show coming up in Tokyo next weekend.
Oh, what I would give to go there!

And they released an absolutely fantastic music video yesterday for their banger TSUKIKAGE 🔥🔥🔥
I have totally messed up the 'likes to views ratio' for them, by watching it basically non stop. Sorry 😋

I have a soft spot for power metal...

...even more so when fronted by women. I have followed @alterium.band for some time and was really happy to get to see them at Time to Rock festival last month.

They absolutely did not disappoint 🤘😎🤘 Great energy, stage presence and songs!

I really wanted to see the band at the meet and greet, but came there too late. Maybe next time 😊

Alterium will play festivals in Italy in a few days alongside Trick and Treat and others.
Then going to Tokyo 😎
Go see them if you have the chance!

As promised, another short clip from Stockholm, Sweden...

...featuring Dany being Dany 🤩

She is just the best in hyping the crowd and this beautiful summer night she definitely had everyone at Gröna Lund in the palm of her hand. Just a superb entertainer besides being a fantastic singer and a great guitarist.

Daniela and her sisters were in Sweden for the second time, many more in the crowd were familiar with the band this time around. Maybe that sounds obvious compared to a show at Sweden Rock Festival, but Gröna Lund is kind of an all summer festival, you buy a ticket for all of their shows during summer (several shows every week - different genres of music) for US$45 or so. Great deal 😎 and also a nice opportunity to discover new bands. Unfortunately I'm five hours south of Stockholm...

Anyway, I hope the young ladies felt the love from the crowd and will come back soon again!

The Warning's Asian dates are coming up soon with dates in South Korea and Japan, if you get the chance to go see them, I can highly recommend doing that!

What a fantastic voice this man still has!

Geoff Tate's Operation Mindcrime - the final chapter on the 4th of July 2026 at @timetorockfestival

@geofftateomc did a really inspired show and the crowd was all for it 🤘

As the name hints, they played the entire concept album - one of the finest of its kind in my opinion.

So what more could you possibly ask for?

Well, a track 'The Answer' from their latest release plus "Empire" and "Take Hold of the Flame" that's apparently what! which also made this a complete success in my eyes!

I also had the immense pleasure of meeting the man and the band after the show 🤘

I truly love when a band so obviously are having a great time on stage...

...as Crucified Barbara at Time to Rock Festival a couple of weeks back!

Maybe it was the pyro that they had for the first time in a while - and was handled by Hampus, guitarist in Bullet - maybe it was the great energy received from the crowd that can be pretty 'dead' at these morning shows (13.45 / 1.45pm) at times, maybe it was that break the band had for almost ten years before restarting the band last year...

Whatever it was I thoroughly enjoyed their show, which to me was the best I have seen with the ladies!

Mia is a fantastic singer with an intensity - almost urgency - in her voice and all of them are great musicians as well as performers. Some nice hair whipping going on too 🤘

The setlist was a mix of all four their albums, with half of the songs coming from their last album, In the Red, so there was more focus on this album than last time I saw them at Swedish Rock last year. Nothing unusual about promoting your last album, more unusual perhaps that it was released in 2014.

Of course I had to tell the ladies in @crucifiedbarbara_official how much I loved their show, because why not? It's one of the things I really like about @timetorockfestival - many of the bands will have signing sessions / meet and greets. They were happy about their show and super sweet to talk to!
