When life takes everything, sometimes it gives back just one thing to remind you of what you’re made of.

After years of dreaming, training, and then running (sometimes crawling) 100 of the toughest miles, my @hardrock100run finish was everything.

Then the fire came and left nothing of that race behind… or so I thought. Digging through the ash, I found it, my favorite Hardrock mug, intact.

A little charred, a lot tougher… just like me.

Nervous, nauseous 🤢, and excited…after 8 years of dreaming, tomorrow I finally get to toe the line at @hardrock100run. It all kicks off at 6am MT, follow me, #151.

Missing from the picture is a crew member and pacers @kimthompson0, @anthonyclee94, @darianallberry plus my trusty dog watchers, @chrissy.susanne and @sendopotamus.

Massive thank you to the ones spending the weekend here supporting me and to all those who helped get me here.

Well, not exactly the kids my parents were hoping we’d have… but meet our three new kiddos. Ducks. 😂

Penny, Marty and Mayor… adopted from a local family who couldn’t keep them anymore and already settling in like they own the place. We’re hoping to add two more ladies soon, but for now these three are thick as thieves.

Do they love me yet? Not quite. But I’ll keep showing up with lots of treats, fresh pool water and an unreasonable amount of gentle enthusiasm until they do. 🤗🦆🦆🦆 taken in Bailey, Colorado by @sawna

A little throwback to last year in Peru, when @eamon_tothat and I somehow convinced a group of good friends to follow us around some of my favorite places and trails. Pallay Punchu was one of the more colorful stops along the way.

Six or seven trips later (I’ve officially lost count), and somehow there’s still always another corner of this country I want to see.

Heading back at the end of the month, this time to Huaraz and to the Cordillera Huayhuash circuit for new trails, even bigger mountains and a very, very necessary vacation time. taken in Pallay Punchu by @sawna

Honestly, back-to-back work trips are hard, but if work is going to send me somewhere for a week+, Chamonix is a pretty good place to end up.

Somewhere between very little sleep, a lot of work, running around town, running up mountains, and showing up for @amazfit.global in some exciting new ways, I got to see old friends, make new ones, spend time on some truly ridiculous trails, and remember why this place is so special.
And then there was UTMB.

Watching so many friends cross that finish line after months (and years) of work was equal parts emotional and mildly dangerous because I left Chamonix thinking… maybe I could see myself doing this one day? (I should probably qualify first).

Will be discussing with my coaching staff… Juniper, Aspen and Cedar… but I think they’re always down for more time on our local trails.

Mt Bierstadt on an early Saturday morning.

Busy (!!!) trails, beautiful views, lots of dogs, and a solid training day for Cedar… who somehow became the most popular boy on the mountain.
