My TDK experience - Ok you’re probably looking at these massive paragraphs and thinking “oh brother, the quiet kid actually wants to say something after never speaking”, well yes. There has been a lot of things I have been wanting to say, so hear goes. - “I never want to switch studios again” was a thing I said a few years back. It was a thing I believed in for many years, until last May. Without getting into details, I realized far too late, the studio wasn’t for me anymore. My senior year was approaching, and fast. I decided to try out for TDK because, what did I have to lose? I’d been watching them since I was a freshman and, while a little scared of them, they inspired me immensely. And oh boy that was a good decision - Teammates, If you’re reading, hi.Sorry we didn’t get to know each other better. You wanna know something? I’m actually not a shy person, most would never dare to call me quiet. But while I was quiet, some became my friend and some supported me in other ways. For those who talked to me, said hi, or even just interacted with me in anyway, thank you. You have no idea how much that meant to me. Also, for those who watched my solo, cheered for me, said good job, or all of the above, THANK YOU! I used to have to drag my teammates to watch my solo so this was a nice change of pace. Overall, y’all are all awesome, such amazing people and dancers, and I can’t wait to see what y’all accomplish in life. - Teachers, Thank you, all of you.Y’all believed in me since the beginning and I genuinely can’t appreciate y’all enough. You all had an important factor in my journey even if only for a year. And the best part, y’all made me like to dance again!Yes, even ballet.I loved dancing at TDK and that was because of you. - The girl who was told I needed more ballet, got a compliment on her attitude The usually aggressive contemporary dancer became softer overtime She’s in the “Best Tap Studio” from TDA And only downsides were the commute (1.5-2 hours one way) and my run around in hiphop - This would’ve never happened without my mom looking up TDK on google, so for everything, I thank her, thank you for believing in mom. - It’s been an honor, goodbye TDK, Sawyer by @sawyer.callens

my first and last tdk dance recital!! • since i still have nationals, i’m not going to be saying a lot but i will say thank you. i’m so grateful for everything this studio has given me even when i’m the new kid on the block. from the teachers to my teammates to my friends, thank you, it has been an absolute honor🤍 • Also i didn’t expect to literally cry on stage for my solo, I couldn’t see for like half the dance. Also shoutout to a little recital girl with red glasses who asked “are you going to longhorn?” then we took a pic with the hook ‘em sign while she held a longhorn stuffed animal 🤘🏻 • alright, let’s kill it in vegas by @sawyer.callens
“You’re on your own kid, you’ve always have been” • I ended high school ranked #10 in MY class (bypassing the person who wanted to graduate early who ultimately took my spot as number 10, where i was pushed by to #11) Will I probably forever be petty of this? Absolutely, especially since Ive lived in Huffman my entire life, but this is a discussion for another time. • Huffman has gave me so many opportunities I would’ve never have gotten in a bigger school district, and in Huffman, I was able to meet so many amazing people, some of who are my best friends. Huffman, despite how much I complain about it, I am forever grateful for everything this little town has given me. Thank you, truly. • And to end it in a theatrical way …that’s all folks! by @sawyer.callens
