day 1.

had my first empanada today, delightful. for anyone reading this, if you’ve never had an empanada, don’t be shy, go try one. i didn’t realize, until recently, maybe even until said empanadas, that flaky pastries inspire me. not necessarily to work hard or think creatively, but that my taste buds and my mind put the conglomerate of ‘flaky pastries’ as important, a delicacy? maybe even a necessity. i don’t know. just go try an empanada, pls.

okay but hear me out. what if you pushed yourself. what if you actually pursued one thing, just one, over the next few months that you love and that you desire to learn, or know. what if you buckled up, strapped your boots on tight, dug in, and pushed yourself, more than you ever have before. i’m not talking about burning yourself out, i’m talking about not giving into excuses. when your alarm goes off, get up. turn your shower to cold at the end, regulate and endure it. when your faced with trials, temptations and pleasures disguised as all sorts of debauchery, stand in the face of such adversity and say what you’ve always wanted to say, be the good you’ve always wanted to be. what you’ll find is that you can’t. forever. you simply can’t, on your own. when you get to those moments read and proclaim Psalm 61:1-5. much love. stay hydrated. i believe in you. 🫶🏽 by @sawyerwayne_

I really enjoy x0.5 pictures.

ISNT IT CRAZY THO. The views and angles that x2, x1, and x0.5 camera angles give? We can see a variety of different rad things, as well as produce greater insecurities.

Is that not just like the life we live? Our perspective, or our lack of selfish perspective and reliance on a heavenly perspective provided by Jesus, can change the whole way we see our successes and failures. The way we see our beauty and our insecurities. The way we live. A life lived through heavenly perspective is a life I want to live.

Matthew 11:28-30. Not that heartache and burdens will not exist, but with Jesus THEY WILL BE LIGHT. Your burdens will be light.

Opens palms.

Let go of “control”.

Sometimes I second guess myself… well more like all the time. There’s a song by @colonyhouse called “second guessing games” that is basically like…. Stop second guessing yourself and living in the what if and DO IT.

The lyrics say:
“If only I
Could go where I wanna go
To get where I need to be
Do what I gotta do
To say what I need to say
Fight for the things I love
Let go of the things I don't
But let's stop playing second guessing games”

It’s really such a simple concept, but is hard to transfer into real life.

In the song “all praise - live from passion 2020” Sean Curran says “you weren’t made to hold back.”

Let me repeat that

YOU WEREN’T MADE TO HOLD BACK

Go where you got to go.

Get where you need to be.

Do what you gotta do.

Say what you need to say.

Fight for the things you love.

Let go of the things you don’t.

It’s WICKED how many times our minds are else where thinking about this person, that event, that homework assignment or the next item that life is going to throw at us. The sweetest moments for me are those picture imperfect moments of the mundane that can seem to be so insignificant, but upon review seem to me… to make the difference between a masked up friendship salesman or a mask less, genuine brother and sister. Those who are through and through by your side through those mundane moments, not trying to force a fun memory or perfect picture moment, but genuinely desire you to be apart of their community? That is a type of friendship I desire.

Ecclesiastes 4:10
“ If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Surround yourself with those who will lift you up, dust you off, show you how to humbly desire and seek after the Lords righteousness. Those who will flee falsehood and gravitate upon grace. The few who’s deepest desire is the depths of heavens mysteries.
