Happy New Music Friday, Funky Friday AND Cory Henry Album Release Day to all who celebrate.

Technically, @coryhenry’s new record, Devotion, dropped yesterday…and technically, the song here — “Burdens Down” — is from Cory’s Grammy-winning 2024 album, Church.

Still, it fits with Cory’s ongoing groove in gospel soul, with plenty of funk on a Friday. And as a multitalented artist who’s not only toured with Stevie Wonder but had @steviewonderlegacy feature on his latest release, Cory has earned all the kudos — and then some.

This week I realized that I hit my goal weight that I was targeting before my next decade of life coming up in January. 🎉💪🍾

To be honest, I haven’t been going super hard in the paint lately and tracking fitness goals or macros, but have still been showing up even when life gets in the way and on days I didn’t feel like it (there have been many lately). That’s a testament to consistency and 4+ years of commitment to multi-modality training and realistic, incremental recomposition targets while doing it naturally and not too restrictively (could never make my 🇮🇹 ass give up carbs, wine, and the occasional sweet treat).

So screw it. I’m showing up and celebrating with no fancy IG editing, no long-winded captions or carousels, messy bun in the bathroom and all. Using this as further motivation to KEEP GOING in all aspects of life and onto the next set of goals all-around!

Saddened to hear the news of Jim Mimna’s passing. Jim was a legend in the Colorado music community—one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet who had a one-of-a-kind eye for capturing magic. If you were an artist in Colorado and Jim captured your show, you felt like you made it.

He always made time to get the group shot and was always a hang backstage and behind the scenes. I learned a lot early on in my PR career observing how he made artists laugh and feel comfortable.

Looking back at these photos reflecting on fond memories and how life short, so live it up and cherish every moment, even amongst chaos and tough times. Rest easy Jim and say hi to Ray and Rob like old times back at 1-Up!
