October is half over and we are still asking for people to help with both our Food Drive and Blood Drive. It takes hardly any time to scan the QR codes and donate money or time (for Blood Drive). The Blood Drive is Monday and we only have two weeks left to collect money for the Hunger Bowl. If you can help with either, please do. If you can help, why wouldn’t you help? Together we are so much stronger and more capable of doing good for our communities. If everyone gave just a little bit, the end results would be massive. We could feed so many and provide so much life saving blood. SBG Athens can’t do it alone. We need you! Please! Thank you. by @sbgathens

Yesterday was a great day of competition for our MMA fighters at the NFC Kickboxing event. We spent the last month or so mainly doing stand up and clinch work to get ready for the event. Outside of that, we don’t have a separate striking program. Reps are reps though. Happy the guys and girl, got a chance to test themselves and get better at competing. We are happy with the results and look forward to getting back to our MMA ways. by @sbgathens

Braedon is now 2-0. First fight was a ko. Tonight was a tko. Braedon has been trading for 2 years. Never hit a hand pad. Never shadow boxed. Never drilled in the traditional sense. Never boringly slipped a jab one hundred times or learned how to roll punches similarly. Was never “taught” how to throw punches in the way that most every person does on day one at their gym. He spent the first 9 months of training never even being punched in the face. First time he fought was two amateur muay thai fights after about a month of head contact (went 2-0). He has come up in a completely ecological environment. That’s all he has ever known. Man, he looked good tonight. Lfg! by @sbgathens
