Some of the scariest moments in my life were the ones that changed me the most.

My first day of school? Scary.
Trying out for the dance team? Scary.
Getting my first job? Scary.
My parents getting divorced? Scary.
Getting married? Scary.
Having a baby? TERRIFYING. 😂

I’ve faced plenty of things in my life that scared me.

But you know what DIDN’T scare me?

Finding an opportunity that gave me hope for something more.

An opportunity that became about so much more than money.

It gave me something to work toward. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose. It helped change the direction of my life, my marriage, and my family.

And most importantly, it helped me find MYSELF again.

There was a time in my life when I honestly struggled to see a reason to keep going.

But God had a different plan for me. 🙏❤️

Today, I know my story isn’t over. And if sharing the hard parts of my journey helps even ONE person realize there is still hope, then I’m willing to be vulnerable enough to tell it.

Happy 24th Birthday to my girl, my ride or die, my Chez. ❤️

You are truly one of the most fun-loving, carefree, genuine humans I know. You have a heart that loves BIG. When you love someone, you love them HARD, and you will stand up and fight for the people you love without hesitation.

And that laugh of yours… it’s absolutely contagious. You can light up a room without even trying. To know you is to love you.

Chez, I am so incredibly proud of the woman you are and the life you are building for yourself. Watching you grow, chase your dreams, love fiercely, and create your own path has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

You will always be my girl, and no matter how old you get, I’ll always be cheering you on, standing beside you, and probably embarrassing you a little along the way. 😂

🚨 I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT PROBLEM AND I NEED OPINIONS. 🚨

A horrible storm decided to redecorate my house for me… WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. 😂

It took out the siding, soffit, fascia, roof damage… basically Mother Nature said, “Girl, you’re getting a makeover whether you like it or not.”

And now I get to pick what my house looks like next.

Sounds exciting, right?

Until you open Pinterest. 🤦‍♀️

Now I’m 47,000 pictures deep, questioning every shade of white, wondering if I’m a “black accents” girl, an “off-white and wood” girl, or apparently a person who needs to stare at siding samples for the next six months. 😂

I’ve narrowed it down to a few favorites and I NEED MY PEOPLE.

A couple weeks ago, a storm rolled through and decided to redecorate our house… without asking. 😂

Fence? DESTROYED.
Siding? Yep.
Roof? Yep.
Cars? Yep.

Basically, Mother Nature said, “You know that house you’ve had for years? Let’s give you a blank canvas.” 😂

Thankfully, we have insurance, and I am SO grateful for that.

But now comes the hard part…

I GET TO CHOOSE WHAT COMES NEXT.

And honestly? That got me thinking about life.

Sometimes life throws a storm at you that you never saw coming.

It tears down things you thought were permanent.
It changes the plans.
It forces you to make decisions you weren’t ready to make.

And you can spend your time wishing the storm never happened…

OR

You can stand in the middle of the mess and say,

“Okay. What are we building now?”

That’s where I am in more ways than one.

I’ve spent enough years waiting, wishing, second-guessing and trying to fit into the life I thought I was supposed to live.

Now?

I’m choosing.

Choosing what I want my next chapter to look like.
Choosing what I’m willing to change.
Choosing what I’m no longer willing to settle for.
Choosing to build something that actually feels like ME.

And apparently, I’m choosing new siding too. 😂

Because if life is going to hand me lemons…

I might as well make one hell of a glass of lemonade.

Sending my son back to Georgia after having him home for a visit.

I’m so happy he’s out there living his life, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish I could keep him home a little longer.

The house gets quiet again. His room is empty again. And this momma is over here trying to act like she’s got it together. 😂

Being a mom is the best thing I’ve ever done. But nobody warns you about this part.

You raise them to go… and then you miss them like crazy when they do.

You CAN build something from your phone.

I’m building a business from mine while still working my regular job—and I’m loving the flexibility that comes with it.

Work from home.
Work from wherever life takes you.
Build around YOUR life instead of waiting for life to slow down.

Best of both worlds?
I’ll take it. 😉

Well… this is weird. 😂

A few days ago the house was FULL.

Wedding chaos. Family. Friends. Lists. Decorations. Last-minute everything.

Then my daughter got married…

And my son headed back to Georgia.

And suddenly I’m sitting here with my coffee in a VERY quiet house wondering…

What the heck am I supposed to do now? 😂

I’m happy. I’m proud. My heart is completely full.

But I’m also realizing that life is changing.

And maybe this next chapter is going to be about figuring out what I want this season to look like.

70 DAYS. ❤️

Today is a day I’ve prayed for.

For years, I’ve hoped and prayed that my husband would choose sobriety—not because I wanted to change him, but because I wanted him to choose it for himself.

And 70 days ago, he did.

Today, he is 70 DAYS SOBER. 🥹🙌🏼

I’ve watched him make the choice every single day to keep going. To create new habits. To show up for himself. To choose a different path.

And watching that from the front row has been something I’ll never forget.

This man has been my husband, my best friend, my strength and my safe place for so many years. Seeing him choose himself and his future means more to me than I could ever put into words.

70 days, babe. I am SO damn proud of you. ❤️

This is the day I prayed for.
This is the day I hoped for.
And today, I’m just incredibly grateful.

One day at a time.
One choice at a time.
One victory at a time.

Here’s to 70… and to all the days still ahead. ❤️

Somewhere along the way, I realized I didn’t just want to work harder.

I wanted to live bigger.

I want to see more places.
Make more memories.
Have more flexibility.
Create opportunities I didn’t think were possible for me.

And I want to build something that can grow alongside the life I’m creating.

That’s what this journey has become for me.

Not overnight success.
Not a magic button.
Just me showing up, learning, building, and taking a chance on myself.

This storm? Just a little reminder that sometimes you have to weather a few things while you’re building something beautiful. ⛈️
