1. Always ensure you take accurate measurements. Make sure the person you are measuring is wearing fitted clothing and a well-fitted bra to obtain correct measurements.

2. Ensure your body measurements are precise; never approximate!

3. Double-check your patterns before transferring them to fabric to avoid mistakes.

4. Practice as much as possible, as this is the only way to gain mastery in designing. by @sbtfaads

Proper fabric construction is one of the things we don’t play with here at SBT fashion academy.

Our beginners made their first basic bodice and floor length penciled skirt in class and we absolutely loved it! Keep up the great work ladies. taken in Shomolu Lagos by @sbtfaads

Monday to Friday, Olapeju is a banker. 👩🏽‍💼

Weekend came… and she switched uniforms. 🤭

Yesterday was her first day at SBT Fashion Academy, taking the first real step towards learning a skill she’s always wanted.

Because sometimes, you don’t need to quit your 9–5 to chase another dream.

Same girl. Same dream. Different confidence. 🥹❤️

From her first day at SBT Fashion Academy to graduation day… somewhere between these two pictures were the lessons, mistakes, corrections, “I finally get it!” moments 😂 and plenty of growth.

Today, she leaves more skilled, more confident and ready for the next level of her training and we can’t wait to see her get even better!

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’ve learnt until you put the two outfits side by side.

Nonso’s first attempt at making a jacket.

We are super proud of how far Nonso has come ❤️

This is one of our favourite parts of teaching at SBT Fashion Academy ,watching the difference proper guidance, practice and correction can make.

You don’t have to arrive knowing everything.

You just have to be willing to learn.

Ms Tosin didn’t come to SBTFA as a complete beginner. She already had basic sewing knowledge… but three months later, the difference is beautiful to see. ❤️

For her final project as an Intermediate student, she made this gorgeous corset dress with a halter neckline and safe to say, she ate! 😍👏🏽

From refining her construction skills to confidently bringing a piece like this to life, we’re incredibly proud of how far she has come.

Congratulations, Ms Tosin! 🥂 We’re rooting for you and can’t wait to see what you create next. ❤️
