Ending the week with this done is satisfying as hell. Next week onto the arches which luckily are already cleaned up ready to go. Then sills and floors. There is light at the end of the tunnel I swear.

Also super proud that I did the majority of this myself, @b19oot did the bead rolling and even resisted bead rolling a cock in there when I told him he could 😂😂😂😂

As always huge thank you to Iain at @rss_retrospeedshop, this wouldn't be possible without him

Back to making some progress on the drift car. All the plates for the back end made and got the spare wheel well blank welded in today.

Big ups as always to @rss_retrospeedshop @b19oot for his help with though he absolutely hates BMW's 😂

Big win. Wiring loom is finally out. Cut it in two places but plan to Deutsch plug those places in case the loom needs to ever come out again. Now I have the loom to trim down on the garage floor whenever the weather is crap

Another day, another load of progress.

Finally pulled the heater box out, I was hoping I could leave it in and just undo the nuts but no. This meant I could pull the very last piece of carpet out finally! This was one hell of a fight to get out.

This then meant I could get more wiring out of the way and also work out handbrake placement again, hopefully make it more sturdy this time round. Shame BMW thought it was a good idea to attach all looms together. Need to decide if I'm cutting and putting a connector in or taking the whole front end off to get the loom out of the car completely.

Also raised the car up even higher thanks to my bro helping.

Friday is meant to be a nice day again so hoping to start putting some fresh metal in on Friday.

Another load of progress this afternoon.

Chipped away, physically and metaphorically at some more sound deadening. Any that's left will probably need some sort of persuasion, dry ice probably.

Tackled the drivers footwell that was looking like pure crust, turns out it still has some structure to it. I'll probably still replace it when I do the sills but for now it's coated in rust converter to hopefully stop it getting any worse.

Also needed to move the wiring looms to get into this spot so pulled all wiring from the boot and rear doors and this is all now in the passenger footwell, nightmare 😂
I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with the wiring but what I do know is, I really want to strip out what's not needed and not being used as I will be chasing the car being as light as possible.

Feels so good to make progress I can't lie, more tomorrow afternoon if the weather is nice!

This afternoon I have spent some time on my poor little abandoned drift car. Mostly wondering if it's too far gone and hunting for solid metal, this is the most progress there has been in a long time.

Both rear floors are now cleaned up ready for the next time when I will make some plates and get these big holes welded up.

Also coated any heavy rust spots in rust converter and coated any good bare metal in weld through primer.

Also featuring pictures showing how bad this car has got with being sat for around 3 years in the same spot

Ooo yeh! Can't believe these just got hand delivered as well. Top service from @hmsportsaero and they look like they will fit really nice without adding too much width which is perfect.

Fingers crossed for good weather on Thursday so we can progress with the last of the welding and get cracking with the rebuild.
