🎨💀⚰️ Sometimes I don’t even know what I’m saying yes to. When I love my people and love experiences, I’ll show up with little background information. 😉 This is how I ended up at #OpenHouseChicago: Graceland Cemetery. SUCH a beautiful day!!! (Even though I was setting up @ 9:30am in 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts and a winter jacket!!! 45°! It doesn’t sound that bad…but when you’re sitting still in it for several hours, it’s not pleasant. Haha. BUT it warmed up nicely and was a gorgeous day at this historical landmark of a sacred burial ground!) One day left: TODAY! Sunday 10/18! See you! 😘 by @scarabsanctuary

🎨💀🪲👻🎃 HOW COOL! What’d you say?! “Pop-up market: Graceland Cemeteraaay?!” I’ll be there Sat & Sunday, 10/17 & 18, 10am-4pm. They have great new merch as well! (Who DOESN’T need another mug?! 🤪 These are gorgeous though! More schwank than kitsch. #PureClass)
*Mug not pictured. 😉
**This is another type of drinking vessel. (Photo from Ravenswood Art Walk. Earrings SOLD.)
***Creepy/cute Halloweenie pieces to come. Stay tuned!!! by @scarabsanctuary

It’s a 50/50 kind of day. 😉 One cicada rehabilitated & released. One cicada dead. We try. Haha. AND…what will be a 100% definite hit is the Japanese Flea Market in Arlington Heights!!! I always have a great time selling my jewelry & art at this thing. Today, I even brought CRAP from my home, since I’m purging in preparation for a possible move. Come say hi! 👋🏼 Here until 4pm. (Assembling these earrings right now, on site. ☺️) by @scarabsanctuary

I had ZERO clue there was an eclipse happening, but looked up while crossing the street, on the way back to our Airbnb. Thank you for the cool, CLEAR skies, Galena. And thank you Samsung, for making superior camera phones! 😉 (Progression shots, final aftermath, and some random slop at the end…including the first, blown out pic I snapped, before mastering this new phone. The hard shadow IS pretty cool though.) by @scarabsanctuary

Saturday 8/22 - In the midst of making new goodies for a FREE tattoo parlor/DJ dance party/meaty BBQ tmrw! Art market: 11am-5pm. Music & food until 7:30+. See you there! ONE block from my home! Haha. ((3526 W Armitage)) by @scarabsanctuary

This FIRST photo! My current role. (Ohhmm…☺️)
#DailyDrop: Met a friend for late lunch & coffee, and received timely messages from the universe! Never underestimate the power of looking down! At (or on) anything. by @scarabsanctuary

Stumbled across this piece from probably 2006, recently. It began with a dream I had, then I incorporated other elements from a botanist buddy’s subconscious suggestions. 😉 She now owns this painting. 🥰 Was so great visiting it, Megan Albert Dunning! Thanks for making art a priority in your world. (AND for doing what you can to keep this planet green & healthy! 🤩) by @scarabsanctuary

A QUICK design project that’s turning into a long design project. 😉 More leggings for #ScubaSisters. I’ll share the finished design when I’m complete. (And maybe I’ll post a photo of my butt in the pants again. Hahaha. If you’re REAL nice. 🤪) by @scarabsanctuary

“The Octo Arm Royal”/Drew Barrymore. 🤪 Painting these tentacle bubbles is very therapeutic. And I sold one this weekend.

Funny, I’ve only produced little mini ones, because it takes so much damn time! I initially started this process with a larger canvas. I thought the royal’s arm reminded me of a tentacle…so I ran with it. 🤣 Maybe I’ll finish this piece next. Got a LONG way to go.

Try to keep your brains from melting over these next few days, Chicago! (Complete non sequitur, I know, but MY brain is aflame! Sending love and CHILL vibes to all. 😘) by @scarabsanctuary

I created you in 2005, in the middle of the night, on the floor, after bartending. You’ve been my rock ever since.

Sold this painting today. It’s probably my absolute favorite! 🥲 The ease with which it was created, the flow, the TEXTURE, the technique, the rich colors. AND it was/IS the prototype for many jellyfish and Skull Jellies to come, over the last several decades.

I was truly sad to part with this baby…and it COULD NOT have gone to a better home. Molly Schemper is the reason I got to meet Robert Redford, and spent a year of my life working on a piece based on a story he told, live from the stage. I drove to Sundance, and proceeded to meet with his gatekeepers in person, over the phone, and via email. Haha. Such a journey!!! When I got his response, acknowledging my art, heart, and vision…it was ALL worth it.

Enjoy THE original “Jelly,” Molly. Dust her, set knickknacks & postcards on her, play music for her… 😉😘 by @scarabsanctuary
