Hey! What are you doing?! Get out off my pumpkin patch, you Slowpoke! Wait a sec, What’s happening to it… Hallowed Slowking The Pumpkin King Pokemon Psychic/Fire Abilities: Hallowed Surge*/Flame Body Slowpokes are common pests in pumpkin farms, and this does not bode well when Shellgord like to hide there. The Shellgord has taken full control the Slowpoke. It commands hordes of pumpkin Pokemon to spread fire and mischief everywhere it goes. *Hallowed Surge: On October, the Pokemon’s most proficient stat is raise by 1 stage and will increase if it defeats an opponent. I mean, how could I not use Slowking for Halloween? The main course of the design is Shellgord, a Grass/Fire convergent of Shellder. It’ll get it’s own seperate post somewhere in the future. I like to imagine that the tail is pumpkin spice flavoured, if you manage to beat it first. Good luck! It’s not easy. One week till Oct 31, get ready for the GRAND FINALE! Until then… #scaredydraws #slowking #shellder #pumpkinking #halloween by @scaredydraws
Never travel the swamps alone at night. If you here a cackling sound and smell fruity scents, you might have just bump into… Hallowed Spidops The Witch Spider Pokemon Bug/Poison Abilities: Hallowed Surge*/ Power of Alchemy(H) By mixing the essence of their Bug-type prey with fermented berry juices, Hallowed Spidops concoct potions with various effects. They gather in large covens. It is advised not toget too close to them as they will splash potions on unsuspecting people. *Hallowed Surge: On October, boost the Pokemon’s most proficient stat by one, and will increase if it defeats an opponent Hallowed Spidops can learn a new move: Strange Potion Status PP: 10 Acc: 100 Can inflict one of the following status effects. (Poison-Burn-Freeze-Paralysis-Sleep-Infatuated) Had this idea way before I started this channel. Onve I drew a bunch of Mincraft-themed regional variants and this was one of the first. I liked the design but didn’t know how to apply it to my channel til Halloween rolled out.I think my favourite part of this artwork is the swamp background and lighting effect. It looks spooky. That’s it for this week. Stay tuned! #scaredydraws #witch #spidops #halloween by @scaredydraws
Oh! What’s that lurking in the shadows? You’re about to greet the most horrifying amalgamated pokemon yet… Hallowed Electrivire The Scrapyard Pokemon Electric/Ghost Abilities: Hallowed Surge*/Motor Drive(H) Said to be an attempt at reviving a trainer’s beloved Electrivire, half of its body is replaced by mechanic parts. Long years of abandonment had caused its body to rust, forcing it to salvage fresh metal from scrapyards or hunt Steel-type Pokemon like Magnezone. *Hallowed Surge: On October, its most proficient stat is boosted by 1 stage, and will increase if it defeats an opponent Wanted to make a Frankstein mon from Conkeldurr but that’s already taken. Then I wanted to use Electrivire but didn’t know how to apply this concept without making it Ghost-type. The junkyard theme gladly fits the Frankenstein vibes and provides a more “family-friendly” way of making an undead amalgam. Drawing the rusty parts was challenging but it looks super good. Tune in next week as we enter the swamps… #scaredydraws #electrivire #frankenstein #halloween by @scaredydraws
Welcome, trainers, to our first annual Hallowmon Pantheon! Prepare as every weekend will five you a spookyfied Pokemon to be terrified off. Starting off this week with… Hallowed Lurantis The Sickled Zombie Pokemon Grass/Ghost Abilities: Hallowed Surge*/Contrary(H) In the dead of the night, this variant of Lurantis is seen hopping in large groups. It’s unknown where they are going, but one must be cautious when encountering them. Their sickle claws drain the life force upon contact. *Hallowed Surge: On October, boost the Pokemon’s most proficient stat by one stage. That stat would increase if it defeats an opponent. I’ve done a jiangshi Pokemon before, but I found Lurantis would look good as one. The back petals resemble the ones of a spider lily, which are associated with death in Chinese culture, and the hat is a chrysenthamum, a funeral flower. Fun fact: The characters on the tailsman is Lurantis’ Chinese name. Hope you enjoy! The next Pokemon you’ll encounter will be a shocker… #scaredydraws #lurantis #halloween #jiangshi by @scaredydraws
Woah mama! Quaquaval go an upgrade! Final part of the typeswapped starters. Here… Urban Quaxly The Oily Duckling Pokemon Poison Abilities:Caustic*/Moody(H) A result of adapting to rubbish-filled cities. Quaxly’s hair is costantly in a mess and covered in grease, making it moody and pessimistic. When frustrated, they will flap violently, flinging hair sludge everywhere. Urban Quaxwell Punk Pokemon Poison Abilities:Caustic*/Moody(H) Gangs of Urban Quaxwell are found typically within the seedy side of cities. Regularly they clash with other Pokwmon such as Scrafty or Krookadile. They still maintain the strong kicks of their Paldean cousins, but their style is with less finesse. Urban Quaquaval The Greaser Duck Pokemon Poison/Dark Abilities:Caustic*/Guts(H) There’s usually one Quaquaval in a gang of Quaxwells and Quaxlys. It prides itself for its appearance. The grease holds it large hair in place as it dances and attacks. Although the grease is flammable, Quaquaval takes advantage of it and uses it against its opponents. *Caustic: Boosts the power of Poison-type moves when health is low (like Overgrow) Urban Quaquaval gets to learn a new move: Roughhouse Dark Physical Power: 90 PP: 10 Acc: 100% (Dark-type Play Rough) I came across the fact that Quaxly use a sort of wax to keep its hair neat and tidy and thought “what if it had a constant bad hair day?” and given that Quaxly has a pompadour, I can’t help but think “Elvis duck”. Quaquaval is a carnival dancer from Rio, naturally a punkrocker from America made sense for a regional variant. It took me quite a while to get the hair lighting right, but I’m happy with the result. I hope you’ve enjoyed the typeswapped strarters. Shall I do more? Do tell because there’s no better inspiration from no other than a friend! #scaredydraws #quaxly #quaxwell #quaquaval #elvis by @scaredydraws
Here! Have some chcolate! Part 2 of the typeswapped starters. Let’s go! Jungle Chimchar The Forest Chimp Pokemon Grass Abilities: Overgrow/Gluttony(H) This variant of Chimchar has lost their fire-producing abilities due to their fruit-based diets in the dense jungles. They’re especially fond of cacao pods for their sweet taste, often stealing them from plantations. Jungle Monferno The Choco Chimp Pokemon Grass Abilities: Overgrow/Gluttony(H) Legend tells that a group of explorers were saved from starvation when a group of Jungle Monferno gave them some chocolate. Later researchs found that native humans had lived alongside. with Monferno and their evolution line members. Jungle Infernape The Chocolate Drink Pokemon Grass/Fairy Abilities: Overgrow/Hospitality(H) This Pokemon creates a delicious chocolaty drink that grants mystic healing powers, said to be blessed by Legendary Pokemon. The flavour can’t be replicated by human hands and Jungle Infernape will only share it out of necessity rather than for enjoyment Jungle Infernape learns a new move: Mystic Cocoa Status PP: 10 Acc: 100% Restores the HP of the user or its allies by 25% of their maximum HP, and heals any non-volatile status conditions and removes poison Wanted to do something with Infernape that didn’t feel to Japanese so I opt for a Mayan inspired line. Fun Fact: monkeys can’t eat chocolate but they can eat the cacao fruit they come from, plus then monket gods of the Maya were offered cacao and that Mayan choclate drink, and that clicked in nicely. This was my second attempt at a Grass type version which I’m happier with. And I guess that chocolate drink taste EXACTLY like horchata. Hope you like it. Get ready for the “Water” type starters as it’s coming soon! #scaredydraws #chimchar #monferno #infernape #grasstype by @scaredydraws
Part 1 of 3 of a set of typeswapped starters. So let me introduce you to… Highland Chespin The Hard Spike Pokemon Ground Abilities: Quake*/Rock Head(H) A rare variant of Chespin that has adapted to craggy highlands. Rather timid, they prefer isolation from other Pokemon besides its kin. This Chespin is an exceptionally fast digger. Highland Quilladin The Hard Armor Pokemon Ground Abilities: Quake*/Rock Head(H) Much more boastful and rowdy than their pre evolutions, Quilladin are often seen boring deep caves and bending metal bars to show of their strength. They appear to be attracted to shiny objects like jewels. Highland Chesnaught The Dwarf Lord Pokemon Ground/Steel Abilities: Quake*/Rock Head(H) These boisterous Pokemon are the absolute leaders of clans of Quilladin and Chespin. They’re capable of molding steel like clay and have been used as blacksmiths in ancient times. Highland Chestnaught isn’t so much of a strategist and prefer to bash anythinh it finds an enemy on sight. Quake: Powers up Grounf type moves when health is low (similar to Overgrow, Blaze and Torrent) Like any regional starter, Highland Chesnaught gets its own signature move: Berserker Bash Steel Physical Power: 150 Accuracy: 100 The user takes recoil damage equal to 1/2 of the damage done. Is affected by Rock Head. Since Kalosian Chesnaught is a JRPG knight/paladin, I wanted to come up with a DND viking beserker version for it. I kinda got inspired to make this after reading The Hobbit, given the impresion of dwarves. Chesnaught had a different design which I was not happy about and quickly redid it. Come back tomorrow for the second typeswapped starter, I hopw you all enjoy them! #scaredydraws #chespin #quilladin #chesnaught #pokemonart by @scaredydraws
Sorry for the lack of posts, been pretty busy lately. But I’ll make it up to you with all the PvZ classic mushrooms in my style! You might notice some drastic changes to them, especially Hypno Shroom, which was my favourite. It was inspired when Popcap decided to put Scaredy, Ice, Sea and Doom Shroom in PvZ2 a little too late with some unfavourable designs. So that kinda inspired me to redesign every plant and how my avatar design came to be. Uni’s been eating me up, but I’ll get back to posting regularly. I’ve pre-cooked some Pokemon-related stuff and I want to test the waters with my new and improved Almanac Entries, but we’ll burn that bridge when we get there. Enjoy! #scaredydraws #pvz #pvzart by @scaredydraws
Gonna be participating in @indigos.fakemon ‘s #imegawish , so here’s my entry. Bow before the tactical prowess of… Mega Vespiquen Mega Beehive Pokemon Bug/Flying Ability: Artillery* Vespiquen trades speed for tactical prowess and power. Its beehive abdomen can rapid-fire Combees at high-speed while the cannons on its forearms shoot honey globs to slow opponents or homing stingers. Vespiquen commands any Combee within a 100 mile radius to aid it in battle and use them as spare ammunition. In a last ditch attempt, it can channel all of its powert to fire a stinger bomb, though it’ll exhaust the Vespiquen into detransforming. *Artillery: Boosts the power of Ball and Bomb moves by 2x I had this idea where I turned the beehive abdomen of Vespiquen into a revolver cylinder and that it could shoot bees. And then I took a page out of Naganadel’s book (many pages in fact) and add a bit of Samus to it and, hey presto, a new well-deserved mega for an underrated and adorable Pokemon. Enjoy! #scaredydraws #megaevolution #vespiquen #pokemonfanart by @scaredydraws
One time I made a joke in a comment section, and it led me to creating this masterpiece. It’s time to face the biggest threat yet to be added to the meta, Mega Whimsicott! Mega Whimsicott Mega Cotton Pokemon Grass/Fairy Ability: Maddening Mischief* “Mega Whimsicott sheds so much, it rolls all of its fallen cotton into a huge ball it can ride on. The cotton boasts incredible defenses from both physical and elemental means.” “Any Pokemon unfortunate to get in its way are trapped in the giant cotton ball until Whimsicott detransfroms. It has a strong desire for attention and is always performing tricks during combat.” *Maddening Mischief: Basically a combination of Prankster and Mold Breaker Inspired by harlequin jesters, mythological tricksters like Pan and Puck, Lemmy Koopa (given the huge ball) and Katamari all rolled into one. After Whimsicott took over my feed thanks to Champions, I kinda wanted to do something. Fortunately, I stumbled upon an old drawing of M. Whimsi I made one Christmas holiday ago and I’m really glad how this turned out! I hope you like it @shinywcott , I made a promise and I didn’t fail you. See you later! #scaredydraws #pokemonart #megaevolution #whimsicott #pokemonchampions by @scaredydraws
After doing a lot of Pokemon-related stuff for the past month, I wanted to get back at drawing some PvZ stuff. So here’s Puff-Shroom, Fume-Shroom and, well, me. If you wonder why does Scaredy-Shroom looks like that, it’s based on the infamous PvZ2 Scaredy design. I kinda liked it so I changed it a little to make it cohesive with the rest of the plants. I also borrowed some inspriration from the Pizza Tower series since its artstyle greatly compliments it. Puff and Fumesy, on the other hand, hardly changed. Why bother change perfection? I’ll be back with the rest of the shroom gang. See you then! #scaredydraws #fyp #pvz #puffshroom #fumeshroom by @scaredydraws
Posting early as I’ll be away for sometime, but we’ve finally made it! The final of @rival.clay ‘s Alolan Sunset challenge, featuring Naganadel and—wait, are they supposed to be here????? To end with a bang, I decided to put ALL of the Ultra Beasts into one place with the biggest summer hallmark: family gatherings! Yep, the UB are one big family! (with Naganadel as the mom obviously) I’m glad I got this done, drawing all of them was pretty tiring, which is why I’ll be on vacation too. Huh funny. See you! #scaredydraws #alolansunset #naganadel #ultrabeasts #sunsetbeach by @scaredydraws
