Fun Updates:
✨I finally got the knee surgery I’ve been dying to get for the past five and a half years. The top five things I’ve missed / wanted to do these past five years are running, hiking, kickboxing, skiing / snowboarding, and dancing. Having to wear a knee brace so often has been horrible. Even going to GA concerts hasn’t been as fun for a long time. I’m so, so happy to finally get back to living life to its fullest. I should be good to go by January!
✨I dyed the underside of my hair dark red. It feels very fitting for fall and is easy enough to tie up / hide for trial (since I’m in a conservative county). I don’t know how long I’ll keep it like this, but I’m thinking through the rest of the year might be fun. I think it works for all of the holidays…and I love it, so there’s that.
✨I officiated my first wedding [for a former client I’m now proud to call my friend] tonight. The ceremony was on the courthouse steps, which I found fitting, given court is how we all met and came together as a team. It was a lovely evening with a great turnout. I’m so thankful to the Rodriguez family for including me and letting me officiate! I’m sure I’ll post photos soon.
✨I’ve been blocking more “friends” rather than wasting my time on people who don’t support me or talk sh!t behind my back. I’ve also been making sure to focus on strengthening the relationships I have with my real friends. I don’t have a lot of them, and I don’t see most of y’all often, but I much prefer quality to quantity. I’d do anything for those I’m blessed enough to see once a year or so. Distance doesn’t change how much I care.
✨Lord knows I’ve been working more than overtime, so it’s nice to take a break due to surgery. Of course, I’m more than excited for my trials waiting on me when I get back. I tried a case this month that I’d worked on for over a year, and have a few others that have been a long time coming. I absolutely love my career.

Nearly six months!! I never thought I’d be celebrating a super fake “holiday” like National Boyfriend Day, yet here we are. Michael is the only reason I’m still here. (Literally, but that debrief will be saved until 1 December.) Between an incredibly intense trial coming up followed by knee surgery, I don’t know what I’d do without him. I’m blessed daily with his kindness, talent, compassion, love, humor, and witty banter. I thought I knew what love is, but am so beyond happy to be proven wrong in the best way possible. Cheers to [almost] six months of dating and [almost] a year of being my best friend…and cheers to many more blurry, happy photos together. 🥂 Thank you for every day of fun, long talks, play fights, puzzles, gaming time, etc. Thank you for giving me a reason to wake up every single day. I’m so glad I didn’t plead the Fifth on this one. I didn’t want to give dating another chance, but am glad I did. 🖤 As much as I want to thank Michael, I can’t help but thank all of the people who pushed us together. Shoutout to the rumors for the recommendation. #IYKYK

The usual: law, gym, repeat.
I haven’t been posting very much, as Michael and I have been super busy. We’ve been working a lot on the house (building an office, painting, decorating, etc.), with its anniversary coming up. I have a couple of big trials slated for this fall. Texas heat is killing me, so we’ll have to start hitting the waterpark or lake more often. Cooking every night has been a ton of fun. Still hitting the gym five or six days a week. Still hated or loved by the right people.

Patience is paying off.

I am crushing it in the legal world. My house is almost completely furnished (photos pending). I’m dating one of my best friends. Some new investments are in the works. Going to the gym six out of seven days a week is going very well. All of the “right” people are known for who they are. Everything is falling into place.

✨LIFE UPDATES✨
✨HOME: It’s been 9 months since my house finished getting built. My next door neighbors are awesome, I’ve converted my garage into a man-cave, and am almost finished unpacking (not as easy with my schedule). As I sell my old house this upcoming week, I am both thankful for how it treated me over the years as well as how nice the upgraded space is. Progress is wonderful.
✨WORK: With my trial partner in chemotherapy, I’ve been having to do a lot more at work. While it’s taxing emotionally, I still love my job more than anything. I have a few first degree trials coming up. As always, feel free to come watch…or say “howdy” after they’re over…orrr drop off energy drinks and nicotine during.
✨WEIGHT: I’m still dropping weight after dealing with some medical issues over the winter, but I’ll be back to my usual before summer!! I’m excited to hit my goals and get back to being cut. Being cleared to work out has been such a blessing for my mental and physical health. I miss my face and waist looking how they did this time last year, but I know I just have about a month or so to go before I’m back to baseline. I’m so psyched to see more results.
✨SOCIAL: It’s amazing how much I’ve already cinched my friend group this year. My tolerance for middle school antics is not only at 0%, as always, but I’ve stopped trying to remedy situations where other adults are acting like complete children. Life’s a lot better when you keep your friends close, and enemies…irrelevant.

It’s been an interesting month.
This year in-general has come with a lot of unexpected events, both good and bad. I’ve been focusing a lot on self-improvement and pushing even harder than usual in my career. It’s strange to see a semblance of a future. Never thought I’d end up picturing one for myself.
