😃 Hello to all our friends at @street_avengers and @effe4.0_streetphotography – welcome! I’m @soniasimbolo , and I’m ready for our weekly feature. Today, I have the immense pleasure of introducing you to not only a brilliant photographer, but also a wonderful woman: @scarlettfreund . ♥️
Enjoy the viewing, everyone, and see you next time… 💫

“My name is Scarlett Freund, and I’m a portrait and street photographer based in Los Angeles.
Born in NY, I grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and that experience taught me to be at home everywhere and nowhere.
For me, photography has always been about forging connections and making sense of the world. Lately I find myself drawn to juxtapositions — points of contact, echoes, reflections, ruptures — especially in urban settings.
As a street photographer, I’m interested in how the human figure navigates the complexities of modern life. I look for moments when life seems to be at a standstill, on the brink of something magical and transformative.
What draws me to street photography is its unpredictability, its genius for storytelling, and its power to shake up familiar ways of seeing. I love how every shot holds the potential to make the world anew.
Ultimately, I see photography as a utopian practice. I hope my images will move viewers to engage with narratives other than their own.
My work has received recognition from, among others, APA and WSP, and been shown in group exhibitions in the US and abroad.”
