DID YOU KNOW? Sheri Moon Zombie’s FIRST-EVER movie role was Baby Firefly in House of 1000 Corpses (2003)… and she never planned on becoming an actress.

Baby Firefly became one of horror’s most iconic characters, launching Sheri into cult-horror history.

Sometimes the character that defines your career is the one you never planned to play. 🔪🖤 #Houseof1000Corpses #Acting #SCARYFLIX by @scaryflix

The screenplay for The Exorcist, written by William Peter Blatty from his 1971 novel, was inspired by the 1949 exorcism case of Roland Doe, though Blatty took significant liberties with the story.

He transformed Roland into Regan, a young girl entering puberty, adding themes of sexuality, adolescence, and fear. The story initially treats Regan’s behavior as a possible medical or psychological issue before gradually introducing the supernatural.

At the center is Father Karras, whose investigation becomes intertwined with his own crisis of faith. The conflict between science, religion, doubt, and belief gives The Exorcist its lasting power beyond traditional horror.

The film received 10 Oscar nominations in 1974 and won two, including Best Adapted Screenplay.
