The City of Riverside spends $240 million a year.

$90 million of that isn't construction. It's goods and services — catering, printing, cleaning, consulting, supplies, IT, landscaping. Things a lot of you already do every single day.

So why isn't that money coming to us?

Usually one reason: not registered. You don't have to be big to win a public contract. You have to be in the system when the bid goes out.

That's Thursday. I'm co-hosting the Riverside Monthly Business Mixer with the SCBCC Riverside Chapter — open to every business owner. Any industry, any stage, member or not.

📋 You walk out with a current list of grants your business can actually apply to. New list every month. Plus contract bidding guidance, capital access programs, a wellness lounge, and real introductions — not just business cards.

📅 Thursday, September 24
🕡 6:30 – 8:15 PM
📍 The Founder's Center — 3865 Jackson St, Riverside, CA 92503
🎟️ FREE — RSVP required

🛍️ SAME NIGHT, SAME ROOM: SHOP BLACK RIVERSIDE HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE

Selling something? Claim a free booth. No booth fee, no table fee, no commission. Makers, beauty, food, retail, services — bring your product and sell to a room that came to shop.

Not selling? Come shop. Free admission, free parking. One room, one night, every dollar staying in the Inland Empire.

🔗 Link in bio — RSVP for the mixer, claim your booth, get directions, and grab the full grant + resource list. It's all on one page.

Come with one clear sentence about what you need — a subcontractor, a supplier, an intro, a customer. Let the room go to work.

Swipe through and tag a business owner who needs this. 👉

Six things a chamber membership actually gets you. Swipe →

Not encouragement. Mechanisms.

▪️ The monthly mixer — last Thursday, 6:30–8:15 PM, Riverside
▪️ Workshops and member education
▪️ Grant access, with the deadlines tracked so you don't hear a week late
▪️ Business referrals — the Chamber fields thousands of inquiries a year and routes them to members only
▪️ The member directory
▪️ Events and access across every chapter

Membership is chamber-wide, not chapter-only. You join once and you're welcome in any chapter room — which matters if you live in one city and sell in another.

Black residents are roughly 7.7% of Riverside County. Black-owned firms are about 1% of Inland Empire businesses. Closing that gap is the work.

Come to a mixer before you decide whether to join. That's what the first one is for.
