The SCDSB offers students enrolled in FSF4U or FIF4U an opportunity to challenge the Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) exam. DELF is a diploma issued by the French Ministry for National Education and is intended for those whose first language is not French. DELF diplomas are recognized around the world.

📅 Families are invited to join SCDSB French educators for a DELF virtual information night on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m.

📝 DELF exam registration is open from 9 a.m. on Sept. 28 until 4 p.m. on Oct. 14.

This week, over 400 elementary and secondary students came together for the fourth annual Student Mental Health Ambassador Symposium, building leadership skills and exploring well-being.

Student ambassadors will take the knowledge, connections, and ideas gained at the symposium to their schools, where they can work with their peers to identify local needs and lead initiatives to support mental health and well-being within their school communities. 💚

Supporting Indigenous students means creating opportunities to connect with culture, community, and one another.

Across the SCDSB, Indigenous graduation coaches and Indigenous education staff work alongside students to create spaces where culture, identity, and belonging are celebrated. In this workshop, students learned to create ribbon skirts, ribbon shirts, and beaded graduation caps while sharing stories, learning traditional skills, and building meaningful connections with each other.

For many students, these pieces mark an important milestone as they prepare for graduation. More importantly, they reflect the pride, knowledge, and relationships that continue to grow throughout each student’s educational journey.

We’re proud to support Indigenous students through meaningful learning opportunities that honour culture, strengthen community, and help every student feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Football is back! 🏈

Junior football teams from across Simcoe County hit the field for the Junior Football Jamboree at Maple Ridge Secondary School today. This was a pre-season opportunity to sharpen their skills, build teamwork, and get ready for the season ahead.

Turns out “a couple of years” = seven. We checked. Time flies when you’re playing football!

Thanks to all the student-athletes, coaches, and organizers who made it another great day on the field!

The SCDSB, in partnership with @specialolympicsontario, holds Special Olympics Elementary Sport Festivals throughout the year.

These events provide students with and without intellectual disabilities an introduction to sports and physical activity, and are designed to be a fun, inclusive entry point to sports.

Join us throughout the year for Golden Buzzer moments, where we spotlight and celebrate students and staff within SCDSB special education programs.
