Noon, desert, 21mm wide lens, high contrast and it looks great. It was hot, light wind was carrying send everywhere. Sand and photo equipment don’t work well together, but you all know that too well.

Behind the scenes of a fashion shoot in the UAE, where endurance meets something just as important: care for the person in front of your camera.

We had already pushed this shoot hard. I could see she was tired, so I asked if she needed a break or some water.

“Later.”

And she just kept going. 😂

I love that kind of endurance. But I also believe that pushing for the shot only works when it comes with awareness.

Knowing when someone has more to give. Knowing when to check in. Knowing when it’s time to stop.

Great work needs both.

And she absolutely crushed it.

One thing I always teach photographers is:
wide, medium, close.

The wide shot gives you the world around them.
The medium brings you into the story.
The close-up makes you notice what could otherwise disappear.

Train yourself to think this way and suddenly one location isn’t one photograph anymore. You stop missing opportunities, your galleries become far more layered, and you rarely come home feeling like you simply didn’t shoot enough.

These images were all made in the same little pocket of a garden. Same bride. Same veil. Same light.

You don’t need hours and endless poses. You need one idea and you need to know how to see it.

Luxury happens long before the guests arrive.
Before the flowers, the tables or entertainment. Before there is even anything beautiful to photograph.

It starts here.
With conversations, sketches, questions, measurements, references, ideas being challenged and details being reconsidered until everything begins to make sense together.

A planner @wonderful_weddings_in_croatia thinking about how the celebration will unfold. A designer @schape.design thinking about how the bride will transform. And me already looking at it through the final frame: how it will feel, how people will move through it, and what will ultimately become part of the visual story.

This is what expertise looks like before there is anything beautiful to photograph.

Not only making things beautiful, but knowing WHY something should be there, how it will work, and when an idea needs to be pushed just a little bit further.

The final result will eventually look effortless.
But by the time that happens, a lot of people have already argued about three centimetres. 😏

What you see vs. everything that happens before you see it🤍

We love the process just as much as the final result, especially when we get to create in a setting that gives us so much to work with.

@maslinaresort is one of those places where nature, architecture and atmosphere already speak such a strong visual language. Add to that a team that is professional, supportive and understands the level of work behind every detail, and creating becomes an absolute pleasure.

Because a remarkable location matters, but the people behind it are what make you want to come back and create there again.

Wedding portrait itinerary: something white, something blue, something Adriatic. 😍

If you’re getting married somewhere extraordinary, I believe that your wedding photos should tell where you were. That’s why I love building the destination itself into the portrait itinerary.

On Hvar, that means leaving the land behind for a while. We took Maslina Resort’s custom Colnago 45 TS out onto the Adriatic, opened a bottle of bubbles, and had so much laughter with the portrait session that it became an experience of its own.

And that’s something I tell every couple planning a destination wedding: don’t choose an incredible place and then only photograph the venue.
Take the boat. Walk into town. Find the hidden beach. Use the landscape, the light, the sea, the things that could only happen there, and for you!

Croatia isn’t a backdrop. It’s the part of your dress code. ;)
