meant 2 be ♥️ the @polaroid film used to take our 2 wedding photos in the woods was also thrifted! it was expired from 1976. we had it in our fridge after finding it at the thrift shop and didn’t even know if it was going to work. so our pal @johnmblackwell followed us around the redwood forest, setup the old camera, put a curtain over his head and we stood as still as we could to capture the moment. magically- it worked! happy 9 year wedding anniversary @therealjohncourage & 14 years together. ilysm 🕯️🥀 #weddingdress #weddingdresses #bride #weddingdressshopping #thriftshop by @schlee_official

Today marks 3 years off the sauce! 10/10 recommend. I’m wild enough at heart. To celebrate I played flute for my pony friends :) At one point I had a captive audience of 7 horses standing with me enjoying the sounds of my flute dueting with the wind in the trees and the birds in the sky. Healing for me & hopefully for them too 🦋🐴💞 Endless Thanks to @heartofgoldsanctuary for having me ➡️ read along about the day

Rosa & I cheesin’ like two besties in a photobooth

Sweet Rosa seems to really resonate with the music- always comes and sniffs the flute while I’m playing it, looking at me in the eyes and curious as to all it provides. Maybe a musician herself, a dancer, an artist in another life and now in this one an enjoyer of. 🎶 🪈

When I was packing up to leave and heading up the pasture sweet Rosa followed closely behind. She stopped when I stopped and walked when I walked. She was just like my two tiny shadows back home Chester & Monroe Rainbow 🐶 🐶 Maybe one day I’ll have 20 shadows walking behind me wherever I go- 2 dogs, 2 horses, 3 piggies, 5 chickens, 3 turkeys, 1 goat, 1 cow, 1 duck and 2 kitties. 🤣 Old McSchleebles had a farm eeei eei oooo

Now if I could get one of them to learn bass and the other drums…..

Fit check! #ootd

I brought along 4 flutes. My classical and 3 wooden. I found they really enjoy the sound of one of my wooden ones best. Sounds of the earth.

I pretty much stayed on my lower register on my classical as to not play to high of notes. I was happy they enjoyed the classical as well.

Me & Rosa just a couple a gals about town.

on the lookout for

I was playing for these 5 horses for quite some time and then Rosa and Atticus who had been far away in another part of the pasture came up to join. That’s when I had my big captive audience of 7 horses. It was so magical! I could see them all relaxing, eyes softly closing and opening. It was so peaceful. 😌

After my first time playing for the sanctuary a medium came by and the first thing the horses asked was “where’s the music”. So- I guess I got the gig! I would like to play for all the animal sanctuary’s and farms. If you think your animals would enjoy the soft flut by @schlee_official

if these photos were from another time they would say- dear diary, this hair is the only thing apart of me that’s held together. thank goodness @thecharmedcomb came by the homestead today to whittle me back to whole. I may be falling apart at the seams but my crown never sways. I sit gazing out the window. I’m lonely without Jonny here, he’s out on the road again. I wrote him a letter on the typewriter telling him to shine bright wherever he goes. I’ll head into town to pick up some coffee beans and mail it off to him. The horses are waiting for me out in the pasture to play flute for them. My sweet captive audience. I put on my shiny pink gloves I found at the bodega and head on down the hill. While I sing and play to them I catch myself day dreaming of a life out in the city. I see my name in bright lights & my voice on the big screen. I think about how every day is like a moving picture & my whole life is cinema. May each chapter bring spontaneous joy - for I am a seeker of that. xo, Schlee
