This is what mountain life is all about—unreal views, great friends, dogs in their element, and getting a front-row seat to the best spot in Vail. 🌲✨

With Piney River Ranch being forced to shut down at the end of September, the vibe up here is definitely heavy. Every local is gutted to see this chapter close, but we’re holding out hope for whatever the future holds for this sacred piece of land.

For now, we’re just soaking in every bit of off-grid magic while the gates are still open.

End of an era, but unforgettable memories. 🏔️❤️

Spending our anniversary at our favorite place!
•
Six years ago, we said “I do” right here at Piney Lake, and we just spent an our 6th anniversary soaking up every single second of these views—this time running around with our son Kane and our 3 dogs, making even more family memories in our favorite place. 🏔️✨

No matter what happens, nobody can take away those memories or the pure joy this spot brings us!

For anyone wondering what’s going on up here, Piney River Ranch is facing permanent closure after the 2026 summer season because the operators and landowner, Denver Water, couldn’t reach a workable lease extension. When the current lease ends, the plan is to completely dismantle the historic cabins, docks, and venue space.

We’re beyond grateful for every moment we’ve gotten to spend up here, and Piney deserves to stay open so more families can experience that same magic for generations to come. 🌲☀️
