✨ A Saturday well spent! I snagged this jar of very cool beads from Salvos Springwood on a whim, and it turned out to be a big win! 💎 I was braced for some unusable bits—jars like this often have wastage—but I was thrilled to find every bead was top-notch. Sustainable win!! They’re likely from broken necklaces, repackaged and bundled together. Many are glass beads, and I’m pretty sure I spotted some lampwork (handmade beads shaped by melting glass with a torch) and millefiori (those intricate patterns made by layering colored glass rods). So cool, right?
I chilled out sorting them into colors—super relaxing!—bagged them up, and then got to creating. Check out these earrings I made! 🌟 Loving the green and blue vibes. What do you think? Would you wear these? 💬

I’m Schmick from Schmick Overdramatic, and I’m thrilled to share these one-of-a-kind earrings with you! 🌟 I’m a guy who’s just started this sideline, turning preloved finds from Brisbane thrift stores into wearable art. Each pair is a mashup of materials with a story to tell.

Check out the star of this pair: a vibrant green bead with a glossy finish and a hollow core— I found the necklace it came from months ago, so there a touch of mystery about the origin. It almost looks to be some kind of alcohol and ink art. Paired with a rich wooden bead and gold-tone hooks, these earrings are sustainable, stylish, and quite unique.
