As for my powerlifting career, I have decided to not continue into the collegiate level. I have enjoyed my last 4 years and the memories I have made will stick with me forever. While i’m sure I will compete again at some point, i’m giving my mind and body the rest it needs. First of all, this meet was super special to me, not because I was trying to break records or make an attempt at gold, but because this was my last meet with Hortonville Powerlifting. My team was the most impactful part of this sport and i’ll always be grateful that I was able to be its captain, not once, but twice. So to all my teammates, thank you for the amazing years, i’ll see you next season for coaching.
Second, I’m going to be honest. This was one of my worse, if not my worst meet I have had. But if there was something that I learned from this experience, it’s that I have grown so far as a person. Last year if I would have gone 4/9 at nationals, my emotions would have held complete control over me. This year I was able to continue with my head high and positive attitude. And honestly, I am more proud of that than getting second.
Lastly, I wanna take a moment to thank the people that have provided me with the strength and opportunities to go on trips like these to get my titles. Mom and Dad, I don’t say it nearly enough but thank you❤️ by @schmidtclaire05
