Yesterday was a BIG DAY for our family … Aaron and Sabrina got engaged!!! To say we’re happy is a huge understatement… we are absolutely thrilled.
Rosa and I have prayed for Aaron since he was born that God would bless him with a godly wife who loves Jesus. And boy did He deliver! Sabrina is loving, kind, generous, joyful, patient, and peaceful. And funny … and a great singer … and well, you get the point.
Could we ask for more? Nope!
Congrats Aaron and Sabrina … this is a great day, but the best is yet to come! ❤️ by @schmittpix

The real Father’s Day gift isn’t in this photo (although the new #Blackstone was a super cool surprise!!!). It’s the fact I get to share being a parent with Rosa, and that together we’ve had the blessing of raising four wonderful sons. Thank you, Lord! by @schmittpix

This kid turns 21 today. I could go on and on about how great he is, but I’ll keep it super simple … he loves God and loves others. Hard to ask for much more than that. Happy Birthday, @jakobschmitt8. by @schmittpix

Every day is a great day to celebrate Rosa, but it’s even more special when it’s her birthday. We’re spending this one in Texas … and having a ton of fun. We went to @harriscreek for an awesome church service (Praise God for His goodness), had an awesome lunch at The Brasserie, and we’re not done yet. Dinner next and then Top Golf. Happy Birthday, @momof4schmitts !!! taken in Waco, Texas by @schmittpix

These boys are so blessed to have a godly mom who loves them more than they can imagine. She has taught them what it means to have honor and integrity, to work hard, to have fun, to love God and others, and so much more.

This picture was taken in 1993 during our honeymoon in Bermuda. It’s crazy to think that 33 years have gone by since then, but I really hope they’re just the beginning. I am beyond blessed to call you my wife, and even more blessed to have a front row seat to your beauty as a mother. Praise the Lord!!!
Here’s to many more anniversaries, Rosa!!! by @schmittpix

In my early days as a photographer, I was asked to read a poetry manuscript and shoot a variety of cover photos to match the content. I still remember scribbling the words “trees, shadows, city” in a small notebook before I headed out to a spot along the Hudson River in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Later that day, after I developed the film (no digital back then), I knew this image was “the one”. I was proved right when it was selected for the cover of the book called “Mysticism for Beginners” by Adam Zagajewski.

I’ve always loved how the shadow comes out of the tree to reveal the branches and bricks. But this really is so much more than just another photo to me. It represents an opportunity to build a business, to take a step when the path isn’t clear, to find a solution when little direction is given, to bring an idea to life, to collaborate.

Kinda cool how one simple moment many years ago can still mean so much today.
