𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗘 - Working with @monocouche_render_systems_ltd

As part of the wider refurbishment of the ‘Artists House’ project, the external envelope was reworked using a monocouche render system to bring greater consistency and clarity to the existing façade.

The application required close coordination around existing architectural details, new openings and material junctions, ensuring a clean and durable finish that sits comfortably within the character of the house.

Delivered in collaboration with @monocouche_render_systems whose knowledge and attention throughout the process made them a pleasure to work alongside.

This one — a TV room for a home in Lima, Peru — started with Jack's pen and a blank canvas. The time-lapse shows the perspective coming to life, line by line, before resolving into a visualisation of the finished space.

 A bespoke kitchen created in collaboration with Aurora Cucine for the ‘Artists House’ project.

The material palette reflects the tones and textures of the garden beyond, creating a natural connection between inside and out. Proportion, craftsmanship and natural light shape the atmosphere of the space, while integrated joinery and understated finishes bring clarity and continuity to the interior architecture.

Five weeks. One Victorian house in Primrose Hill. Every floor touched.
We've shown you the exterior, the kitchen, the new staircase, the principal suite, and the clever moves in between. This last post is for the details — the moments most renovation photography misses, but which are where a project actually lives.
An arched niche cut into a travertine wall, holding a single branch.

A mirrored panel that expand the space and doubles the daylight, quietly reflecting the original Victorian staircase behind you.
The newel post and turned balusters of that staircase, painted black against cream — a small act of confidence in something already beautiful.
A new marble fireplace in the reception, carved in the Louis XV manner, with a herringbone stone hearth.
A walnut-lined coffee nook, closed by day, open when needed.

Thank you for following along. The clients are at home. The dust has settled. We're already onto the next one.

The principal bedroom we inherited was decent. The bathroom serving it was tucked awkwardly into the staircase, four steps up. The small front bedroom — too narrow to sleep in comfortably — had been reluctantly absorbed as a home office.

So we rearranged. The front bedroom became a proper en-suite. The principal gained bespoke wardrobes lining one wall, and a new sash window on the side elevation to bring light into a room that had none from that direction. The old staircase bathroom became utility and storage.

The en-suite itself is honed travertine, arched niches cut into the wall for storage and softness, brushed copper fittings, and a twin vanity with mirrored cabinets above. The door between bedroom and bathroom stays open more often than not — the two rooms were designed to belong to each other.
Sometimes the most useful thing an architect can do is move walls.

The kitchen we inherited wasn't broken. It was just… quiet. Grey gloss units, a dining table pressed against the wall, a doorway that cut the room off from the reception beyond.
The brief was to make it work harder without shouting. New joinery sized to the existing proportions, a single material palette running through from kitchen to dining, and a reconfigured plan that finally lets the whole floor breathe as one room.
Sometimes a renovation isn't about rescue. It's about refinement.

#TheArtistsHouse – Bathroom Design, Hampstead Heath with @bascombdrew

Three bathrooms reimagined as part of the wider refurbishment.

First Floor - Two new bathroom spaces introduced with air conditioning and skylights by @glazingvision. Natural stone from @via_arkadia brings together deep green tones, soft whites and multi-tonal terrazzo, finished with a natural green pebble mosaic.

Ground Floor Cloakroom -
Featuring the client’s own red Corian “brick” basin, carefully restored and reinstalled as a defining element of the space.

A Victorian end-of-terrace, reimaged across three floors.
When we first walked through the property, the bones were beautiful but the plan was tired — a bathroom tucked awkwardly into the staircase, a kitchen that couldn't breathe, a loft waiting to be discovered.
What you're looking at it result of months of drawing, detailing and decisions—from reinstating the cast iron railings that once ran along the whole terrace, the carving a new staircase upninto the loft bedroom that didn't exist before.

Design is a dialogue. We were thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Robert Hirschfield Architects to bring this incredible residence to life.

As the Interior Designers, our focus was on the "skin" and flor of the home. we curated a refined palette of materials and bespoke finishes to create a seamless, tactile transition between the architectural volumes.

Our work centered on the harmony between structure and lifestyle:

Materiality and flow: Selecting textures and surfaces that bring warmth and character to the formal reception, family room, and private suites.

Spatial Optimization: Refining the kitchen layout to ensure the "heart of the home" functions with effortless elegance.

Integrated Lighting: Working in close coordination with our lighting consultants to develop a scheme that perfectly illuminates our chosen materials from day to night.

By focusing on the fundamental elements of the interior, we've created a home that feels as fluid as it is grand.
