From Landhotel Schützenhof to Vogl's Nest 🏗️🏔️

The former Landhotel Schützenhof in Fuschl am See (Austria) is undergoing a complete renovation – and will reopen as "Vogl's Nest" with a fresh new look, additional rooms and expanded guest areas.

As part of the renovation, the balconies were renewed and enlarged using the Isokorb® RT KL – specifically designed for retrofit projects. The installation process: holes are drilled into the existing structure using a template, filled with injection mortar, and the reinforcement bars are inserted. Once cured, the new balcony can be concreted.

For the newly built extension, the Isokorb® T provides thermally insulated balcony connections.

Completion is planned for June 2026.

Punching shear reinforcement at its best – Schöck Bole® in Leiden 🅿️🏛️

Two remarkable parking garages in the historic city of Leiden showcase the versatility of Schöck Bole® as the ideal punching shear reinforcement for concrete flat slabs.

🔹 Lammermarkt Parking Garage Designed by JHK Architecten and built by the Dura Vermeer – Besix consortium, this cylindrical garage reaches 22 metres below ground across seven levels – making it the deepest parking garage in Western Europe. Its unique shape minimises impact on surrounding historic monuments, while Schöck Bole® ensures structural reliability throughout.

🔹 Garenmarkt Parking Garage Designed by Studio VVKH, this oval-shaped garage features five parking levels with column-free spaces, angled parking bays and high-quality materials. Schöck Bole® was integrated to provide efficient and dependable punching shear reinforcement. Notably, the redesign of the square above was carried out simultaneously with construction, minimising disruption to the surroundings.

All Bole® units are delivered fully assembled and ready for installation – enabling a reliable and efficient solution for concrete flat slab construction.

🏗️ Bereit für die Betonage: Bewehrung und Schöck Isokorb®

Vor der Betonage kommt es auf jedes Detail an.

Auf unserer Baustelle ist die Decke vollständig bewehrt und für die Betonage vorbereitet. Ober- und Unterbewehrung, zusätzliche Verstärkungen sowie die Anschlüsse wurden präzise ausgeführt und kontrolliert.

🔹 Ein besonderes Detail:
Für die Balkonanschlüsse wurden Schöck Isokorb® XT-Elemente von @schoeck.group eingebaut. Sie sorgen für eine zuverlässige thermische Trennung zwischen Decke und Balkon und reduzieren Wärmebrücken an dieser konstruktiv wichtigen Stelle.

🔍 Vor der Betonage werden kontrolliert:

▫️Bewehrung und Verstärkungen

▫️Balkonanschlüsse

▫️Aussparungen und Durchdringungen

▫️Schalung und Randbereiche

Erst wenn alle Details stimmen, ist die Konstruktion bereit für den nächsten Schritt: die Betonage.

Social and circular living in Amsterdam-Noord 🏗️🌿

Cityplot Appartementen is a social housing project in Buiksloterham – a former harbour area being transformed into a vibrant new urban district. The corner building comprises 42 residential units and a shared ground-floor space designed for community life.

For the cantilevered balconies, Schöck Isokorb® T SK was the solution of choice – combining effective thermal insulation with reliable load-bearing capacity. The result: comfortable, safe outdoor spaces with minimal heat loss.

A great example of how technical innovation supports sustainable and social housing – and how materials and design together create a circular, connected urban environment.

Outdoor spaces that climb the façade like a staircase. A tower that feels slender despite its 75-metre height. The new residential building at Rivièraplein in Haarlem shows what happens when symmetry meets rhythm.

Designed by Koschuch Architects as part of the Schalkwijk transformation, the tower comprises around 220 apartments. The staggered balcony arrangement breaks up the volume and gives each unit its own outdoor space – without compromising the clean lines of the elevation.

Constructing those balconies on a building this tall without scaffolding? That's where post-installation with Isokorb® IQ came in. The façade was finished first, the balconies followed by crane. At one location, the recess for the Isokorb® IQ sits beneath a wall instead of at the door opening – a non-standard detail that still allowed for quick, efficient mounting.

A gallery that wraps around the entire second floor. Balconies that shift position from storey to storey. The façade of Tractie in Groningen tells a story of movement and rhythm.

Located in the revitalised Grunobuurt neighbourhood, this residential building comprises 107 rental apartments across three to seven storeys. The continuous walkway on the second floor provides full-width outdoor access for each unit – while the staggered balconies above add depth and character to the elevation.

Architecturally striking, but technically demanding. The varying balcony positions made conventional scaffolding impractical. Post-installation with Isokorb® IQ offered a solution: balconies were fitted after the structural shell and façade were largely in place, allowing for greater flexibility on site.

Millimetre precision at 60 metres.

Mounting 521 precast concrete elements onto a folded glass façade – each one lifted by a custom suction rig, rotated upright, and slotted into position at multiple anchor points simultaneously.

Because the walls are angled, every Isolink® F anchor had to be drilled at a specific angle. The façade team at Hölscher built custom drilling templates to ensure exact positioning during bonding and curing.

The substructure alone: 35,000 individual parts, assembled into large consoles off-site. Each building side required its own plan due to varying widths and geometry.

This is what façade engineering looks like up close.

18 storeys. 521 glass fibre reinforced concrete elements. One façade anchor holding it all together.

The residential tower in Munich's new Freiham district features a striking sculptural façade – with precast concrete elements weighing up to 1.6 tonnes each.

The challenge? Attaching the heavy cladding substructure while meeting KfW 55 energy efficiency requirements. Conventional heavy-duty anchors couldn't deliver the thermal performance needed.

Isolink® F made it possible. With a thermal conductivity of just 0.7 W/(m·K) – up to 300x lower than aluminium – around 8,000 Isolink F anchors secure the façade without compromising thermal insulation.

Certified as a Passive House component. Thermally bridge-free by calculation.

Here's a look at the construction phase of the Comed Health Centre – where eight haunch beams were anchored on the inside and cantilever freely outward, carrying the elliptical upper floor at roughly five metres height.

The critical detail: each beam fully penetrates the weather barrier, creating a thermal bridge that couldn't be solved with conventional flank insulation – not without destroying the clean aesthetic of the exposed concrete.
