Today, October 9, we celebrate World Ballet Pianist Day! School of Philadelphia Ballet is fortunate to have a wonderful team of accompanists that play for our classes and rehearsals every day. Live accompaniment not only gives our faculty the flexibility and opportunity to collaborate in real time with our musicians, but it also trains students to integrate musicality into movement and contributes to their growing artistry as dancers. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication to our students and faculty! 🎵: Viktoria Kogan, Gabriel Rebolla (Lead Accompanist), Astghik Sakanyan, Paul Farber, Ian Howells, Chris Burcheri, Martin Gottlieb-Hollis, Larisa Bell, Jenny Chen, Natalia Varlashova, Lonnie Davis, and Paul LoPresti. by @schoolofphiladelphiaballet

A peek inside our recent physical therapy and injury prevention seminar! Led by Julie Green, MSPT, OCS, Philadelphia Ballet's Physical Therapist & Rehab Director, this seminar is just one of SPB's commitments to the health and wellness of our dancers. Providing a well-rounded approach to dancer health and wellness is an integral part of SPB's programs, integrating injury prevention education into our curriculum so that students have the tools they need to train safely and properly as they grow. Thank you, Julie, for sharing your expertise with us! #schoolofphiladelphiaballet #physicaltherapy #balletclasses by @schoolofphiladelphiaballet

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT ✨️ We're sending a huge congratulations to SPB alumna Ana Emilia Zapata! Ana Emilia was recently given the Dance Award at Mind the Gap, recognizing her as the best female dancer for her artistry, dedication, and potential after being selected by the 23-member jury. Through our partnership with Mind the Gap, we are delighted to offer our students the opportunity to participate in this wonderful choreographic workshop in Switzerland. This experience gives young dancers the chance to explore their creativity, expand their artistic voices, work in a new environment, and connect with other dancers and artists internationally. We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to our continued participation in future workshops. “It was a dream come true getting to be a part of SPB. I will always be fond of my time there, not only did I get to strengthen my technique and artistry while working with the most wonderful teachers, but I also connected with so many people who are now like family to me. The environment at SPB encouraged me to believe more in my own potential and to not be afraid of having big ambitions or pursuing them. I’m incredibly grateful for the teachers and people who created a space where I felt supported to dream, grow, and challenge myself without judgment. Those lessons and the confidence I gained there are things I continue to carry with me as I move forward in my career.” - Ana Emilia Zapata 📷️: 1-2: Carlos Quezada 3: Arian Molina Soca 4: Tracie Van Auken #schoolofphiladelphiaballet #ballet #preprofessionalballet by @schoolofphiladelphiaballet
