Something is stirring in Sägbach… 🍞🔍
BROT UND TOD: CRUMBS OF THE PAST is a narrative mystery game about family, memory, and the secrets buried in a small Swabian village.

Created as part of our studies at the @animationsinstitut, the game was brought to life by our team — including artist Anna (@schoschannah), programmer and technical lead Marc, and director Vivienne (@einwandfifi).

And while you can’t hear her in this teaser just yet, Emma (@emmpathie) lends her voice to our protagonist Marlene. Stay tuned — you’ll meet her properly in the next post. 🎙️

In BROT UND TOD: CRUMBS OF THE PAST (previously named DORF), director Vivienne Jahn (@einwandfifi) and producer Anna-Lena Haas take us to the Swabian village of Sägbach, where everyone knows everyone... and everyone seems to know more than they're letting on. 🔍

As Marlene searches for the truth behind her mother's mysterious death, one unlikely companion never leaves her side: her mum's sourdough starter. 🍞

Sägbach wouldn't be the same without core team members Anna Breitling-Stenner (@schoschannah) and Marc Ulherr, whose work helped shape its world.
