and that’s a wrap on year two! somehow halfway done with this degree and although i could point out a million ways that ive grown and changed since i got here, it still seems surreal.

i think this was the year that my insane range of interests finally stabilized into overlap i could learn from. sotd and simultaneous anatomy for the win. frg and rent and the visit! volunteering at the hospital and still working security for big touring musicals. through it all, i gained so many new friends and new books and experiences i’m beyond grateful for.

staring at my packed up dorm room, im honestly just really proud of how this year shook out. thank you to everyone who listened to me relentlessly complain about my major, celebrated with me after my exams, heard me chronically yap about wicked and saw through my exhaustion to acknowledge my excitement. what a weird hodge-podge of a year. i loved it 💙🧡 by @schulz.selena

oh my güllen. after two months of the visit taking over my life, it doesn’t feel real that it’s over.

this show gave me everything i could’ve wanted for my first time being a deck stage manager and more. from our ever-growing quote book to getting to help run fight and lift call (arguably my favorite part of the night) to clapping and cheering from the wings during bows, all these little moments made me feel like i was the luckiest girl alive. i am so so proud of this thing we created.

to the cast - thank you for your graciousness. in both my successes and mistakes, i never felt anything less than supported and valued which is so incredibly rare. i’d come around the corner (probably at a breakneck speed so i apologize again to everyone i ran into) and i’d see someone who made my face light up. or i’d hear my name and whip around and be greeted by “genuine sincerity” and goodness, i love you all.

to the design team and crew - WOW. i got to traverse the most perfect set, lay eyes on gorgeous costumes and makeup, laugh as we decided on our favorite light cues, and unironically fall in love with the transition music. thank you to everyone who made that happen.

and to my heather, ella and lauren. you made this space feel like a place i belonged. i have never worked with such absolutely hilarious people who are also so willing to help, to listen, to just be there. i can’t completely put into words just how grateful i am to have worked with such an incredible SM team, but thank you for everything and just remember, it’s being painted.

i wore a lot of hats on this show (trust they will be going on my resumé) so this is your SL deck stage manager, prop weapons supervisor, sorta fight/lift/intimacy coordinator and huge fan of bark borers signing off.

absolutely the most magical christmas!!

*finally being reunited w/ disney potato barrels

*the perfect guardians experience as per usual
*WILDERNESS LODGE CHRISTMAS TREE
*starlight parade!!
*transportation bingo!! (minnie van let us down but we conquered at least a dozen buses, a boat, a stitch skyliner, being packed into a monorail like sardines at 11pm and driving to all 4 parks in one day)
*walking 12 miles fueled by adrenaline, anxiety and joffrey’s coffee

all that being said, i am so so grateful to have experienced holiday disney two years in a row and oh boy, i can’t wait to go back :) by @schulz.selena

during preview, right before freshman year, i literally stood between two doors, debating on changing my major last minute from english to astrophysics. thank goodness i didn’t, but the sentiment still stands.

i will always adore cape canaveral and tear up a little bit when i see the space shuttles. it’s been 4 years since our last trip to kennedy space center and a lot has changed since then, but the emotions still stayed the same. i’m beyond grateful for such a lovely day with my mama and audrey and overall, just forever in love with the stars, the shuttles, and space. taken in John F Kennedy Space Center by @schulz.selena

“and they said you’re stage managing or something”

i cannot believe that rent closed today. suddenly it feels like all the tears i cried over paperwork and late nights and CURTAINS are so inconsequential, and well, im okay with that. because just look at this wonderful thing we made.

i have never been part of a more supportive, loving team that became quite the little family over the past two months. i felt astounded each day to be surrounded by all this talent and inspired by everyone’s sheer dedication.

it was genuinely an honor to be a part of helping our show come to life. thank you for letting me dance in the wings, obnoxiously sob over my favorite songs, and run like the wind to unlock a door, track down a guitar pick, open another curtain, literally anything and everything, i would do it all again in a heartbeat.

to the cast - your kindness is unmatched, i felt valued at every turn and lightened by your contagious enthusiasm.
to my deck crew - you all brought the life of the party i didn’t know we were missing! i know you might not miss the three hours hunched behind a curtain, but i am going to miss you dearly.
to the creative team - wow. just wow. walking this set, witnessing these costumes, finally understanding the immense value of a perfectly situated light cue, even anticipating the flatline of that ever-present heartbeat - it was all magical, to be honest.

and to the rest of the stage management team - oh my. i want my sleep back, yes, but i also want to keep seeing you every day! your positivity and determination, your support, each of your individual humors, makes me wish i had my headset on again just to laugh and cry along with you. thank you for trusting me and understanding me. i love you three more than words can say.
