1. Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation: F=Gm1m2/r²
Every object attracts every other object through gravity. The equation explains why objects fall, planets orbit the Sun, and the Moon orbits Earth.

2. Einstein’s Mass–Energy Equivalence: E=mc²
Mass and energy are interchangeable: a small amount of mass can correspond to enormous energy. This principle helps explain nuclear reactions and how stars produce energy.

3. Einstein’s Field Equations
Matter and energy shape the curvature of spacetime, which we experience as gravity. This theory helps explain black holes, gravitational waves, and the evolution of the universe.

4. Schrödinger’s Equation
This fundamental equation describes how a quantum system changes over time. It helps scientists predict the behavior and probabilities of atoms, electrons, and other tiny particles.

5. Special Relativity — Time Dilation
Time passes differently for observers moving relative to one another. At speeds approaching the speed of light, a moving clock is measured to tick more slowly.

6. Second Law of Thermodynamics
The total entropy of an isolated system never decreases. It explains why heat naturally flows from hot objects to cold ones and why many everyday processes are irreversible.

7. Maxwell’s Equations
These four equations unify electricity and magnetism. They also show that light is an electromagnetic wave, forming the foundation of radio, radar, and many modern technologies.

8. Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle
There is a fundamental limit to how precisely a particle’s position and momentum can be known simultaneously. This is an intrinsic feature of quantum mechanics, not merely a limitation of measuring instruments.

9. Navier–Stokes Equations
These equations describe how fluids such as air and water move under forces. They are important in weather forecasting, aerodynamics, ocean currents, and engineering.

10. Friedmann Equation
This equation describes how the universe’s expansion rate depends on its density and spatial curvature. It forms a key part of modern cosmology and helps scientists understand the universe’s evolution since the Big Bang.

To make the mechanical model in your picture scientifically accurate, we need to scale the sizes of the Earth and Moon, their separation, and the orbital geometry. The biggest challenge is that the Moon is much farther from Earth, relative to their sizes, than most tabletop models suggest.

An electronic project that appears to count objects or events and display the result on a small screen.

Circular wire ring: It may act as a sensor or detection loop.
Electronic controller: A microcontroller processes signals from the sensor.
Digital display: The screen shows a number, such as 39, likely the current count.
Matchbox mechanism: The box contains matches, but the image alone doesn't establish how they are detected or counted.

The device could use a proximity sensor, an optical sensor, or an electrical contact to register each event. A programmed microcontroller then increases the count and updates the display.

The interesting part is that it turns a simple physical action — placing a glass sphere on a flexible surface — into a way to interact with light, rather than relying only on a conventional switch.

Place a glass sphere
Its weight presses down on the elastic Lycra fabric stretched across the top.
The lamp responds
The weight changes the membrane's shape and activates or adjusts the LED lighting.
Change the brightness and colour
Lighter spheres produce warmer, softer light; adding heavier spheres produces brighter, cooler light.

Liquids float together
In microgravity, the usual up-and-down buoyancy effect becomes very weak. Liquids can form floating blobs instead of settling at the bottom

Surface tension takes over
Surface tension and interfacial tension strongly influence the shapes of the liquids and the boundary between them.

Rotation changes their distribution
When the container rotates, the liquid motion and the forces generated by rotation can reshape the liquid regions and their interface.

Scientists study these effects to improve the design of spacecraft fuel tanks, liquid cooling systems, water-recycling equipment, and other systems that must work reliably in microgravity.

Elon Musk has teased that a new version of the Tesla Roadster will incorporate "rocket-like" cold-gas thrusters developed with SpaceX.
Hovering Capabilities: Rather than a traditional flying car with wings, reports and presentations suggest the vehicle is designed to use thrusters for extreme acceleration, braking, and potentially short, low-level hovering or jumping actions.
Timeline and Delays: Presentations and prototype reveals for the new Roadster have been repeatedly postponed (including a recent weather-delayed event).

This is the Turbine Convection Color Candle, a small heat-powered rotating device associated with Italian designer Achille Castiglioni.

The device converts the chemical energy of a tea-light candle into rotational motion without an electric motor.

Three important principles are involved:
Convection: Heat transfer through the bulk movement of air.
Buoyancy: Hot air rises because it is less dense than cooler surrounding air.
Torque: The force of the moving air acting on the rotor creates a turning effect.
The coloured panels mainly create the visual effect; they are not the source of the rotation.

The technology is more than 100 years old.
Miniature, hand-cranked sewing machines were being made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Hand crank: You rotate the handle by hand.
Drive mechanism: A wheel, shaft or gears transfer the rotation.
Needle movement: A linkage converts rotary motion into repeated up-and-down movement.
Stitch formation: The needle and a looper or hook work with the thread to form stitches.
Fabric movement: Depending on the model, a feed mechanism or the operator advances the fabric.
Many historical toy machines use a single-thread chain stitch, rather than the two-thread lockstitch found in many modern sewing machines. The underside of a chain stitch forms loops, and the stitching can unravel if an end is not secured.

Lapis lazuli is one of the most treasured blue stones in human history. For thousands of years, kings, queens, priests and wealthy merchants valued it for its intense blue colour, golden-looking mineral flecks and association with divinity, power and the afterlife.

Some lapis lazuli objects preserve real historical evidence—including royal names, religious symbols, seals and artistic traditions.

The cylinder seals
Small carved cylinders were rolled over wet clay to leave a distinctive impression. Some depict gods, animals, ceremonies or banquets; others carry inscriptions. They could identify owners and authenticate transactions. These are like ancient signatures, sometimes revealing names and official roles.

When a steel ball bounces on a hardened steel anvil, it creates a highly elastic collision where mechanical energy is efficiently stored and returned rather than absorbed.

When the steel ball hits the anvil, it applies a large force over a very short time.
Vibrations: The anvil vibrates, producing mechanical waves that travel through the anvil, table, and surrounding structure.
Camera movement: If the camera is mounted on the same vibrating surface, or close enough to receive those vibrations, it may shake.
Image distortion: Even tiny camera movements can make the recorded image appear to jump or wobble.

A discovery about how a tiny alga senses light eventually became a technology for controlling neurons in a living mammalian brain.

Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel studied the single-celled alga Chlamydomonas and investigated how it responds to light. They discovered channelrhodopsin, a light-sensitive protein that forms an ion channel. When appropriate light reaches it, the channel opens and charged ions move across the cell membrane.

Then Karl Deisseroth and colleagues adapted this principle for neuroscience. They introduced the gene encoding channelrhodopsin into nerve cells. When blue light was delivered to those neurons, the neurons could be made to fire. Deisseroth demonstrated this in rat neurons in 2005 and subsequently demonstrated light-controlled neurons in living mouse brains.

Researchers have used it to investigate neural circuits involved in:
🧠 Memory
❤️ Emotions
😨 Fear and anxiety
😴 Wakefulness
🍽️ Eating behavior
🚶 Movement
🎯 Reward and addiction
⚡ Epilepsy
🧠 Psychiatric and neurological disorders

Optogenetics is primarily a research technology, although human therapies are being investigated. One particularly promising area is vision restoration, including research involving retinitis pigmentosa. Other potential applications include neurological and psychiatric disorders and improved neural prostheses.
