When girls see women like them teaching and sharing science, it becomes easier to believe they belong in it too.

A recent report by @tabadlab - The Missing Ustaani, finds that teacher shortages hit girls hardest, with subject specialists among the most critical gaps.

And in girls’ schools, only women can fill that gap: too few women trained in science means too few chances for girls to learn it. Every woman who learns to teach and share science adds to that pool, in her own community.

This Winter Join the Science Fuse Fellowship to learn how you can play a part in nurturing a sense of belonging & scientific literacy in Pakistan’s girls & boys who don’t have access to great quality Science Engagement & Education.

🍂 Over five weeks, you’ll explore how children learn science through curiosity and investigation, why access to science isn’t equal for everyone, and how we can make science more welcoming and meaningful for children from different backgrounds.

🎈 You’ll then work in a team to plan and deliver a hands-on, inquiry-based Science Karkhana for children in an underserved community, putting what you’ve learnt into practice.

✏️ Along the way, you’ll build your skills in science engagement, teamwork, fundraising and leadership, while reflecting on who gets to feel that they belong in science — and why.

🌻 You must be 16 or older to apply. Whether you’re a student, teacher, parent, or someone with a passion for science and learning, you don’t need to be a science expert to get started. What matters is your willingness to learn, work with others and help bring meaningful science experiences to children.

📅 Dates: 20 November – 23 December 2026
✨Format: Online training and team preparation, followed by an in-person, 90-minute Science Karkhana at an underserved school in your city.
💰 Fee: PKR 4,000

Complete the application form to tell us about yourself and why you’d like to be part of the Fellowship. If you’re shortlisted, our team will contact you.

Find the application form link in our bio or simply WhatsApp us at 0333 121 7721, or 0321 128 8701. by @sciencefuse

Children in hospital spend so much of their time being patients. We wanted to make room for them to be children, too.

Our Project, Healing With Science began in 2020, during COVID, with the @indushospitalhealthnetwork .

We started bringing play-based science to children battling cancer at Indus Kay Sitaray School, and for years created a little space for learning, making, wondering and play alongside their treatment.

We had to pause the project for a few months last year. Then Sophia and her friends — Misha, Saba, Moiz, Armna, Zahra and Tashifa — stepped forward as Science Fuse Dosts and raised funds to bring this work back into hospital wards.

But it wasn’t only the seven of them. So many people from our wider Science Fuse community donated, shared the campaign, encouraged us and helped us raise more than we had set out to. Today 5 months have passed since this project restarted and we are grateful to each one of you! 🙏🌸💕

YOUR support allowed us to sign an MOU with the brilliant teams at Indus Hospital & Health Network and expand Healing with Science from Karachi to include Lahore.

Five months on, children battling cancer and other illnesses are receiving not just care, but regular sessions to learn, play, create and reclaim some of their childhood every month through our program.

This is only a glimpse. Over the next few hours, we’ll start sharing a mini report from Healing with Science, followed by more stories from the project over the coming week.

And then, it’s time for Science Fuse Dost 2.0 — because there is more work we want to make possible, together. ❤️ Please stay with us to learn about the next project we aspire to fundraise for with your support. Shukrya.

We are grateful to you all. We are also extremely grateful to the wonderful teams at the Indus Hospitals in Lahore & Karachi for believing in this work & for supporting it wholeheartedly. A lot of gratitude especially to our dost @rehmanmadiha from the Indus team! 🙏 by @sciencefuse

Can a kitchen spice change colour like a chameleon? Swipe to meet Tilly and find out why haldi turns red, then back to yellow!

Parents and teachers, this is one of our most popular experiments. Try it at home or in class: predict first, then watch the science happen. Tell us what colours you saw!

A Science Tamasha from @sciencefuse filled the hall at #ISF2026. Students from government schools, colleges and universities watched, asked questions and then went back to their own stalls to explain what they had built.

That mix is the point of the Islamabad Science Festival. Live shows, student projects and a visiting public share one room, so a child who watches a demonstration on stage can go straight to a classmate’s project and ask how it works. This year 30 institutions from six regions took part.

Thank you to Science Fuse for the engaging science shows.

If they can see it, they can be it!

Young girls in Pakistan 🇵🇰 need access to role models in STEM so that they can start believing that they too can belong in science & use transferable STEM skills to unlock opportunities for themselves!

Meet Sidra, Haneen, Dr Mariam & Dua: four women from different Science Fuse fellowship cohorts. These photos are from our recent engagement at the Rafi Peer Carnival held in Lahore led by these brilliant women!

Women from different backgrounds have for a decade played a critical role in nurturing Science Fuse’s community of Science Communicators.

🌻 Sidra Azhar is a primary school teacher who rediscovered her love for science through our Fellowship.

🪻 Haneen is a computer science graduate who believes that education should give children a sense of belonging & agency.

🍃 Dr. Mariam is a physicist, curriculum designer & Master Trainer who brings her STEM education experience to the Science Fuse community.

🌸 Dua is a Pre-medical student who hopes to pursue biological research! She wants more people to see science as a tool for investigating answers to questions.

Apply for our winter fellowship program to help make good quality education accessible to children from underserved communities. Use the link in bio to apply by 17th November. You may DM or WhatsApp at 0321-128-8701 for Qs. by @sciencefuse

The Science Fuse science communicator visited CCCF once again, bringing an exciting hands-on science activity for our little warriors. This time, the children made rockets using balloons and explored the magic of science through play!

Because childhood is about more than hospital visits and treatments. A big thank you to the Science Fuse team for bringing these wonderful learning experiences to our children!

Science Fuse began its journey almost a decade ago with a mission to make great quality Science Education accessible to every child irrespective of their socioeconomic, religious & ethnic backgrounds, their ability and gender.

We’ve engaged 98,000 children in hands-on & inquiry-based STEAM learning programs, developed the capacity of 1800 teachers & nurtured a community of 600 fellows that include students, parents & teachers from across Pakistan & globally.

Now more than ever our focus is on creating long-lasting change in Pakistan’s classrooms. We’re customising all our educational resources, training & programs so that we can nurture the following three elements in children:

💥their confidence to engage with Science.
🎈their ability to practice Science Inquiry Skills.
🐝their scientific literacy.

Our hypothesis is that if we nurture these three elements carefully through teachers, then Pakistan’s children will feel a stronger sense of belonging in STEM subjects. More importantly they’ll be able to use transferable STEM Skills to create opportunities for themselves and their communities.

This will in turn help Pakistan’s economy to grow & we will be able to solve our complex issues of poverty independently by ourselves. by @sciencefuse

At the recent @rafipeercreativeacademy Carnival in Lahore, the Science Fuse team set up its STEAM Booth. All the photos you see in this post are from our engagement at the carnival.

Between the music, the lights and the crowds, children leaned in, tested experiments, and started asking questions we hadn’t planned for.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞: تحقیق 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲.

At Science Fuse, we’ve narrowed down our key metrics over a decade-long work. We nurture three Science Superpowers in every child:

💥inquiry skills, 💥the confidence to engage with science, and 💥scientific literacy.

Our three-part series here is about why each one matters, starting with inquiry. 🎈

𝐈𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐲, 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭, 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Swipe through these posters to see what inquiry looks like in practice for us and how we design, coach, deliver and evaluate it in every project we take on.

This way, Science stops being something explained to children. Instead, it becomes something they use to investigate their own questions.

Next up: Confidence to engage with science. “Science may bhi kar sakti hon!” ✨ Stay tuned for more.

Thank you, @yaminapeerzada @rafipeercreativeacademy & @rafipeertheatre for having us at your carnival & for co-creating learning experiences with us. A big shoutout to our Science Communicators @duaslilac, Haneen, Sidra & Maryam for making STEM come alive at the carnival.

Miss Saba was made to believe she wasn’t “cut out” for science. Years later, as a teacher, she nearly made the same assumption about the girls in her own classroom, until she asked them. Her school network’s partnership with Science Fuse changed how she teaches Science.

This is the first story from our partnership with the National Catholic Education Commission, whose schools across seven dioceses open their doors to children of every faith and background in Pakistan.

In 2024, Science Fuse began working alongside their teachers, master trainers, administrators and senior leadership with one belief: curiosity and ability for STEM exist everywhere, but the opportunity to belong in science doesn’t.

Swipe through to meet Miss Saba, hear what her students revealed, and see how we nurture science capital (sarmaya) so every girl leaves with skills that travel, whatever path she chooses.

Year 1 was just the beginning. Follow along as we share stories from our first two years together, and what’s coming next in the third year!

We are excited to announce our partnership with Science Fuse for Seeds of Change — a six-month hands-on STEAM learning programme at our Khel Learning and Recreational Centre in Machar Colony.

The programme will specifically engage girls from our Accelerated Learning Classes and older boys from Khel — bringing inquiry-based, activity-led STEAM experiences to 25 to 30 children who will explore science through curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on discovery. Science Communicator Wahaj Imran will lead the programme — conducting weekly STEAM sessions, evaluating children’s growth, and building the capacity of our Khel educator Miss Ayesha as an independent STEAM facilitator so the impact continues long after the programme ends.

The MOU was signed in the presence of our Founder and CEO Ms. Tahera Hasan, alongside Science Fuse’s Master Trainer and Science Communicator Shimaila Ahmad, Science Communicator Wahaj Imran, and former Assistant Project Officer Madiha Qasmi.

And true to Science Fuse tradition, the signing was followed by a hands-on activity — stacking books on eggs to discover just how much weight an eggshell can hold. Ms. Tahera Hasan was right in the thick of it. 🥚📚

Because science is for everyone, no matter the age. 😄

Welcome to Khel, Science Fuse. 🌍✨
