Scionaugh it may be hard to say, but here's why I chose this name, what it actually means, and the philosophy that's driven this project for the past 10 years.

What curiosities would you like me to discuss? Do you want me to share other skills that I'm learning?

Reliving a very special moment. Playing to the biggest group of friends at @tanglewood_festival , the place where I first made the decision to start this project. It was truly an honour to get to experience this full circle.

Thank you to @benjamincrossphotography for taking the videos and @duncan.videography for editing it.

~Spain and Portugal~

I landed in Lisboa the night after my Berlin masterclass, and the next day I was off to Suti Festival. The festival was perfect, and it was a real honour to play both a golden afternoon set and a vibrant morning set.
My Sciotech set recording is up now on my Soundcloud!

After the festival it was time to appreciate the incredible architecture of Lisboa, Salamanca and Barcelona. I found the vision and craftsmanship so inspiring. Just thinking about how many artists and hours it takes, sometimes generations, to achieve the closest thing to perfection humanly possible. by @scionaugh

👽 Pre-order now available !

Universal Tribe Records teams up for the first time with Melbourne talent @the_unstable_fable , an artist known for throwing down full power psychedelic sets with relentless force.
Finding the balance between his world and ours, The Community Cure is a three track EP that brings together some rad talents.

The release features collab tracks with sonic wizard and label legend @scionaugh , and Melbourne's own melodic and hypnotic psytechno talent @luxaurum.music . A community divides, and then it rebuilds. In secret, away from eyes. While you were working, we were producing, coming back stronger than before.

This journey starts slow, an ethereal entrance like a lonely sunrise after the death of the Doof. It builds, scorched earth emerges with momentum increasing, giant worms do battle in an endless sand desert. Then the frenzied flames obliterate your soul into a chaotic yet hypnotic forest, with creatures that snarl and entities that guide the path.

Spanning 138 to 165 BPM in a cohesive journey, The Community Cure unites divided forces to achieve a common goal. Deep, driving electronic dance music that shakes the core of the earth.

The secret layer in my claps.

Real-world recording of foley. Foley could be anything from breaking twigs to crushing vegetables. Some real crunch in there to prick the ears and engage the brain.

High hats too, nothing beats a drum machine for that powerful body, but its what you layer on top that makes it interesting!

~Berlin~

It was a short but very sweet stay in Berlin in August, a city I've wanted to explore for a long time. I loved how easy it was to ride a bike here. I've never been in a city so considerate of cyclists!

I hosted a masterclass here and was blown away by the turnout. To be on the other side of the planet, in a city so legendary for its electronic music, and have people show up to hear me talk was really incredible.

I didn't set foot inside a club, but I went to a dope outdoor jazz gig which was a serious vibe. The rest of the time I just loved exploring the streets and hanging out in the beautiful parks, such a vivid contrast of colours and smells.

Thank you to everyone who came to the masterclass, and a HUGE thank you to @digitalsteak for hosting me and helping organise the class. It wouldn't have happened without you <3

Berlin, I'll see you soon. Hopefully next time to party 😈 taken in Berlin, Germany by @scionaugh

🇦🇺Sciotech【Alpaka Muzik】

A project borne of curiosity and sonic exploration, Scionaugh brings together a perfect balance of alien, instrumental and organic sounds that are equal parts groovy, driving and playful, the sonic sorcery of Sciotech provides a dancefloor experience like no other.
Characterised by remarkably intelligent production, Sciotech's unique flavour of psychedelic dance music evades capture by a particular genre.
The versatility of his music means that he is able to curate sets for very different environments and times, from funky instrument-laden morning grooves to the deeper and more driving psychedelic explorations of a nighttime dancefloor.
Throughout his career, Sciotech has enchanted audiences across the world from Melbourne to Montreal. As well as these live performances, the Scionaugh project has released music on many labels, including Universal Tribe Records, Alpaka Muzik, Weapon Records, Zenon Records, Padang Records, Digital Structures, and man more.

Release your mediocre music.

Looking back on my past releases, once I've moved on I always feel like my previous music was mediocre. That's just progress. But eventually I come around, and a few years later, with enough space from the song, I can finally enjoy it for what it is.

Don't make the rest of the world wait. Share your music now. People don't remember the music they don't like, so don't worry about them. Focus on the people who connect with what's authentically you in your music, and who follow you for that. Not the quality of your mixdown.
