Africa’s pioneering leadership school, built by creatives, for creatives. Founded by @jacquelinesuowari

POSTS STORIES REELS

15+ years as a professional artist, over 2,000 creatives mentored across Africa and the diaspora; one common thread I’ve seen: talent isn’t lacking; in fact, we have an abundance of talent, but strong support systems are.

Africa’s creative economy is projected to grow to a staggering $200billion by 2030 but we need the right systems in place for the people who would contribute to that leap.

That’s why we founded the School of Creative Leadership (SCL) @scl_africa , to equip and steer our creative talents in the direction of that growth.

But we want to build it with you, not just for you. Click the link in my bio to take the survey, or comment “SCL” and I’ll send you the link. by @scl_africa

Most creatives know how to make the work. Fewer know how to protect it.

From contracts they don’t fully understand, to work used without credit or payment, uncertainty about what’s fair use and what isn’t, artists & creatives need the right guidance.

We’re hosting our first public workshop around Intellectual Property (IP) Protection, teaching you how to protect your work, understand contracts, and the use of images and references the right way without landing in legal trouble.

Limited slots available.

Look at these proud, happy faces 💚

This moment truly captures what The Rebirth Canvas was all about. The amazing children of Little Lamb Elementary, their teachers, and the Rebirth Canvas team standing together beside something they created with their own hands and hearts.

From picking waste together to painting, gluing bottle caps, and stamping colourful handprints, the children turned simple lessons into something creative, fun, and meaningful. Watching them work together, laugh, learn, and take pride in what they made was honestly such a beautiful thing to witness.

A huge thank you to every child, teacher, and volunteer who made the day so special. Days like this remind you that small actions really can grow into something bigger.

A moment of pure pride 🌳✨

Look at what these incredible young artists created during The Rebirth Canvas at Little Lamb Elementary School, Badagry.

On April 25th, 32 brilliant children aged 7–12 did more than learn about waste and the environment, they became part of the change. What started as discarded materials was transformed into a vibrant textured tree full of colour, creativity, and meaning. Every bottle cap and handprint reflected their teamwork, imagination, and care.

This is more than art. It’s a reminder that even the smallest hands can make a lasting impact through mindful actions.

We’re so proud of these amazing children, their teachers, and every volunteer who made this possible 💚

The Rebirth Canvas — turning awareness into beauty.

The Rebirth Canvas at Little Lamb Elementary was an absolute mood! These kids showed up full of energy, racing to collect waste, dancing, learning, and fully embracing the moment.

They turned lessons into action, painting, gluing bottle caps, and stamping vibrant handprints across two massive canvases. Watching them create, cheer each other on, and connect with the message of caring for the environment was pure joy.

The result? A beautiful masterpiece and even bigger hearts. With their teachers and the Rebirth Canvas team, they showed that when creativity meets purpose, real change happens.

We’re still buzzing from it. Proud doesn’t even cover it.

There’s a kind of childhood joy you don’t realise you’ve outgrown, the simple kind found in messy hands, shared moments, and learning without even knowing it.

That was the heart of the Rebirth Canvas event last month.

From the start, the space was full of curiosity and energy. What began as a light exercise session flowed into meaningful conversations about waste and the environment, and the children were fully present, asking questions and seeing their everyday actions differently.

We stepped out for waste-picking, turning it into a playful competition. Laughter, teamwork, and determination filled the air, it didn’t feel like work, it felt like something they owned.

Then came the art. From sketch to paint, to glued plastics and colourful handprints, each child played a part. There was patience, excitement, a little chaos, and so much joy in creating together.

By the end, it was clear this was more than art. It was expression, collaboration, and a lesson that will stay with them.

The conversation didn’t end with the canvas… it started there.

What we built together continues in the choices we make daily, how we see waste, how we treat our spaces, and how we show up for our community.

Rebirth was never just about one moment, it’s about a mindset. A reminder that impact is created in the small, consistent actions we choose every day.

This is only the beginning. The message lives on in every piece we create, every space we transform, and every time we choose purpose over convenience.
