Sclarandis is closing its doors. ❤️ After many years since launching Sclarandis, I’ve made the decision to close the business. It feels strange seeing those words written down, but this isn’t a sad goodbye. If anything, it feels like the right time to turn the page and I have a feeling the next chapter is going to be great. It wasn’t an easy decision, and it took me months of thinking about it, but now feels like the right time. The footwear business has changed enormously over the last few years, especially since Covid, with factory closures and so many challenges in Italy. Rising costs of shipping and materials, uncertain tariffs, and the realities of producing in Italy and bringing our collections to you have made it increasingly difficult to maintain the quality I’ve always believed Sclarandis customers deserve and that I wanted for myself. When I was a child, I had a dream of having my own shoe brand. I have so many people to thank for bringing this dream to reality. I could not have done this without the advice, help and encouragement of my Italian vendors and factories. To my loyal customers, friends and family: thank you for encouraging me to keep going, even during the tough times. It means everything. Instead of feeling sad, I’d rather finish this chapter incredibly proud of what we created. Every collection, every trip to Italy, every customer photo, and every pair of Sclarandis that found its way into your closet, grazie di cuore. ❤️ And if you know me, you’ll know I’m far too Italian to start compromising on beautiful shoes. 🇮🇹 And now for the part that might make this goodbye a little easier… All remaining Sclarandis shoes are now 70% off and 40% Off Bags. Once a style or size is gone, it’s gone, there won’t be another production run. All sales are FINAL. No exceptions. But while Sclarandis is closing its doors, I’m certainly not disappearing. I have far too much left to say (and far too many opinions about shoes) to go anywhere just yet. 😉 One door closes, another opens… and I’ll be sharing what’s behind that one very soon. I’m Sarah Sclarandis, founder and designer of SCLARANDIS. Some of you may know me, but for those who don’t, I’d love to reintroduce myself and share the heart behind my brand. 💫 My love for shoes started early ...growing up in Italy, I was captivated by the artistry of footwear. At just four years old, I would eagerly explore every shoe boutique in Torino, mesmerised by the craftsmanship. With an Italian father who was a travel photographer, and an Egyptian Mother I developed a deep appreciation for culture, beauty, and design elements that continue to inspire me today. After spending over two decades designing for renowned fashion houses, I knew it was time to create something that truly reflected my vision. That’s how SCLARANDIS was born. We recently took our youngest daughter on College tours to Chicago and Michigan … and let’s just say the weather had very different plans for us. ☔️ It was a downpour! Thankfully, I had my Leila boots and black Desy bag with me, so I did my best to stay somewhat chic... even if the weather forecast wasn’t exactly on our side. I’ve always thought it’s the smaller details that make an outfit feel finished. The roll of a sleeve, a beautiful piece of jewellery the right bag, or the shoe that brings everything together. On their own they might seem like very small choices, but put them together and suddenly the whole outfit changes. ❤️ I think that’s probably why I’ve always loved accessories so much. You don’t necessarily need a completely new outfit sometimes you just need to look at what you already have and think about the details a little differently. I was looking back through some of my outfits recently and realized just how often these three have made an appearance. The gold Amelia clutch, my Gianna boots and, of course, the Stella heels. ❤️ I’ve never been very good at saving my favorite pieces for the “right” occasion. Amelia has been to dinners, events and plenty of ordinary days in between, the Gianna boots come straight back out when fall arrives, and Stella… well, I’ll always find an excuse for a beautiful heel. 😂 I’d love to know which one you’d steal from my closet... There are certain pieces I’ve always known wouldn’t be around forever. The Savannah boots, the gold Amelia clutch, the Desy bags, the rust leather Sonia boots… some designs don’t get another production run, and once the remaining pairs and bags find their homes, that’s it. ❤️ I was looking through some of these styles recently and it reminded me how much I still love them. The colors, the leathers, the little details I spent so long choosing, there’s something rather special about owning a piece that isn’t going to be made over and over again.
