What I wrote, the night I experienced what winning a championship really felt like!
#I have watched most of the professional sports teams I root for, win a championship. However it was only on TV.

Last night I got to experience, in person, watching one of my favorite teams win a championship. It had to be the greatest sports moment of my life. The Sussex County MINERS baseball team won the CanAm League 2018 Championship.

I learned something in that moment... there IS crying in baseball (tom hanks was wrong). I not only got to see an amazing walk off 3 run homerun by Martin Figueroa , but got to be on the field and celebrate with this amazing team, all of the MINERS employees/ownership, and awesome MINERS fans!

No matter the level of play, I root just as hard for the MINERS as I do any of the other teams I root for.... probably harder because it is a home town team and just a great atmosphere to be in. This team and organization is a family and treats all of its fans like family. This team fought all year to be the BEST!

That is why I became a fanatic and morphed into MINER MAN! Well, myself and all the MINERS fans were paid back ten fold for our dedication to this great local team.

This team had not 1 but 2 walk off wins in a row to capture the Championship! I have never seen that by any major league team and don’t think I will see it for the rest of my life. It was a special summer of baseball and I am so very grateful for this amazing memory.

I may have stalled on my @walk_ms fundraiser but that doesn’t mean it can’t be kickstarted back into overdrive!!

When someone is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, it’s like getting a HUGE @ricflairnatureboy chop, right in the chest, and there is no celebratory Wooooing afterwards.

This disease can eventually make a person dependent on others having to care for them, feed them, be their legs and arms, and their voice. That is how devastating MS can be.

The worst part is there is no documented cure!

That is why we need to band together as one SuperPower Tag Team and provide as much financial support that we can, to help find a cure and to support over a million Americans that have been diagnosed with MS! by @scminerman

This post represents dreams, desire, hard work, persistence, lots of stress, and payoff.

We are incredibly proud of our daughter for never giving up on herself; for always facing adversity head on; for pushing herself to be the “best” she can be; for learning to be “comfortable” in the most uncomfortable situations; and for just being who she needs to be, to succeed in every aspect of her life.

This year, not only was she voted in as President of the Wolverines For Donation, but she was accepted into the Neuroscience Research Program. That was a HUGE accomplishment as only a small handful, of a large amount of applicants, are accepted!

Skylar, as you begin another year at the University of Michigan, and move forward with these amazing accomplishments, we just want you to know…

We have turned your room into an Air B&B!
If you need a place to stay when you come home , it will be $100.00 a night or $500.00 a week (family discount) . This will include 3 meals w/ beverages and 1 hot shower a day (bathroom visits are limited to 8 minutes max). Laundry and garbage pickup will be an additional fee of $5.00 a day (again, family discount). You will have access to 2 additional snacks a day but any additional snacks will be extra. You will be allowed to cuddle with Poppy, but if Poppy Poopies, you will be required to pick it up and dispose of it. If any Poopy is left behind, there will be a fine.

This post is about giving…

@wolverinesfordonation is the undergraduate chapter of the @wolverines4life organization, at the @uofmichigan , and is sponsored by the UHMS Transplant Center.

WFD is dedicated to saving lives by advocating for organ, tissue, marrow, cornea, & blood donation. They collaborate with the @americanredcross , @eversightvision , @giftoflifemich , @nmdpumich , and other student organizations, to increase donor registry sign-ups, host blood drives & other events. They raise awareness about transplantation and donation. This chapter also offers its members volunteer & educational opportunities involving the medical aspects of transplant.

I’m very proud to share that our daughter, Skylar, was voted in as President of this chapter. I’m also proud of all the officers(past & present), of the WFD Executive Board , as they have chosen to help saves lives and educate about the importance of blood and organ donation.

🏆 A well-deserved honor for Miner Man

Prior to the game, Sean Sandage, the man behind the beloved Miner Man, was presented with the Frontier League Commissioner’s Award of Excellence by Steve Tahsler.

For years, Miner Man brought unmatched energy, personality and entertainment to Skylands Stadium, helping make every Miners game a memorable experience.

What an absolutely overwhelming surprise I received from Commissioner Steve Tahsler of the @frontier_league at the @sussexcountyminers game tonight. What made it even more special is.. it was Star Wars night, which is where it all began for me many years ago. I am honored to receive this Commissioners Award of Excellence and am very grateful for the recognition by Commissioner Tahsler and the league. Most importantly, I am thankful for the Miners organization, all of the coaches and players, and the great fans of Sussex County, and beyond, for their love and support of my Super Fandom all those years. I’ve been struggling this week, and due to some poor communication by the medical facilities involved in my treatment, I was not able to get my 2nd IV treatment yesterday. I now must wait at least another 10 days before it can happen.

However, I realized that my treatment is given at the same facility as many go for their infusions, to try and slow down the progression of MS. Notice that I said “slow down”.

That’s because there is no current CURE for Multiple Sclerosis. That’s why it’s so important to continue supporting efforts for research and to help those afflicted by this debilitating disease!

Although I’ve been a bit dormant in my efforts to raise money, I haven’t stopped! My goal is to raise at least $1,750 by September.. please help me reach my goal and help those who deserve it the most! by @scminerman
