𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐱𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 (𝐍𝐋)
A transmission from Amsterdam has touched down in Naarm, tracing a path through dancefloors, dream states and dubbed-out detours.

Beginning tonight in the neon glow of Bass Lounge for RISING Festival, before joining High Pass Filter and YL Hooi at The Grace Darling, and closing out with a broadcast from Skylab Radio.

Fri 5th June — 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 — 𝘙𝘐𝘚𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘍𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭
Sat 6th June — 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝘚𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘹𝘪𝘴
Sun 7th June – 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 – 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵

This Saturday‼️ Touching down from Amsterdam, 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 lands at The Grace Darling with his self-described “penni funk” in tow: a tangled web of dubbed-out drum tracks, bass-weight oddities and dembow mutations that sound like a pirate radio broadcast possessed by its own signal.

Operating somewhere between sound system culture, DIY electronics and dance music’s stranger corners, 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 channels “Beats for the People!”

Joining him are two forces whose work has shaped the contours of the so-called Australian underground.

𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 (𝐍𝐋) • @nicolini_skinni
𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 • @highpassfilterband
𝐘𝐋 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐢 • @yl.hooi @tarquin.manek.presense

A meeting point of higher dub logic and artists opening wormholes from the outer edges of the dial.

Special thanks to the wormhole 🪱

This Saturday, we gather for an intimate evening of left-field folk wanderings with 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔?, 𝑬𝒍𝒗𝒊𝒔, 𝑴𝒊𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 and 𝑺𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉. Something to soothe as the leaves turn and the mornings begin to fill with dew.

Emerging quietly from Naarm’s DIY corners, 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔? have found a growing cult following both locally and abroad, transmitting their hazy strain of freak-folk toward those drifting home slowly with nowhere urgent to be.

Songs unearthed and passed quietly between friends, bedrooms, burnt CDs and house shows before taking on a life of their own. Melodies drifting through sharehouses at 2am, carried between cigarette breaks and tram windows fogged with rain.

Returning to The Grace Darling where some of their earliest shows first unfolded back in 2024, this is our love letter to the deeply adored self-titled EP that first surfaced online like a whispered secret, before finding its way into the hands of a growing constellation of admirers.

For the soft-hearted outsiders, quiet singalongs, and those staring softly at the ceiling whispering to themselves: “…we care.”

𝑱𝒖𝒋𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒔 returns to The Grace Darling this Friday for a special Naarm headline — descending into the basement for a rare close-up. Fresh off supporting 𝘖𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘫𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘳 on tour and performing at 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘕𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦 in Aotearoa, she’s one of the most exciting voices moving through the Oceania scene right now.

Since emerging from Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland’s underground in 2021, she’s carved out a lane of her own – blending rap, Afrobeat and punk-leaning energy into a sound that commands the room. A return that’s been on our minds since the last time she touched down. We had to run it back.

Enter 𝑱𝑼𝑳𝑨𝑰 — Mother of the House of Diesel and a force in the ballroom scene — bringing razor-sharp bars and Pasifika heat. The acclaimed EP ‘SUMMER HEAT’ is already doing the rounds, delivering the kind of energy that will have you staying for the sequel, while 𝑫𝑱 𝑬𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑨𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 sets the tone for the night.

Limited capacity.

The veil lifts. A key figure in the Paris underground, 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒘𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆 (FR) makes his Naarm debut with a special live set, moving through psychedelic dub and leftfield club mutations.

With releases on Lithuanian label 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘴 and Belgian imprint 10.60 𝘏𝘻, this live set distils his world into a focused, dancefloor-ready form. Slow arrivals. Swampy pressure. Cut for the room.

𝑲𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝑴𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐 (FR) closes the night with a DJ set, pushing the room through bass, ritual rhythms, and experimental shadows of sound. Hypnotic selections drive the floor from slow-burn tension into full-throttle pressure, felt in the body and lingering in the mind.

Doors at 7:30pm. Enter slowly. Leave altered.

Scorched Axis returns for its first show of 2026 with a late-night convergence at The Grace Darling, cutting between experimental pop, breakbeat, and hypnotic sound after dark.

Sarah Buckley (𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯) presents 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑶 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍, a project originally formed with r hunter, reworked for a special collaborative set with 𝑻𝒐𝒗𝒆. The project moves through ambient pop and experimental electronic forms, shaped across long studio nights.

𝑰𝒌𝒆𝒅𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒑 is the new project from Bensin Thomas (𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘭) and Ju Shung (𝘙𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘋𝘰𝘨𝘴/𝘞𝘦𝘵 𝘒𝘪𝘴𝘴). After a standout Make It Up Club performance, the collision of banged-up machines and Ju’s searing guitar locked into something that couldn’t be left there.

Joined by creative studio 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒔 - the abstract, slambient collaboration of SOLSA, Eek & Thick Owens - and two very special 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒔 (TBA) passing through, appearing in different forms…

Tonight! 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 land in Naarm for the first time — a project already mutating into one of the most disruptive new currents in the Oz underground. With only a single track released, they’re already moving on a frequency the industry can’t clock: rumours sparking into heat, live energy travelling faster than algorithmic reach.

Drawn up from the fault-lines between Baschoe, 1300, Slim Set and Himadri’s own terrain — Kitii, Angus, Kal and Himadri channel the chaos and sharpened instincts of Dharug Nura/Western Sydney’s experimental core. Punk-rap contortions, venom-laced vocals from the boss of the cross Sydney–Melbourne connect, breakneck switches, and hooks that gleam sharp as aluminium. Music that feels like someone hot-wiring a PA until it spits sparks.

Sun is shining, amps are hot. Joined by 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑷! (formerly 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦) and 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆. Doors at 7:30pm.

Born out of Naarm’s anarcho-punk underbelly, 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑷! are a four-piece carving their own wreckage through the city’s DIY circuit. Once known as Serpette, they’ve further mutated their doom-punk blur of d-beat, distortion and chaos.

Tangled deep in Naarm’s freak-punk ecosystem, their live sets move like a single organism with blown-out drums, serrated guitars, vocals straining at the limits of the body. Every member drags their own universe onto the stage.

Friday night, they support Western Sydney / Dharug Nation’s sonic agitators 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 for their first show in Naarm.

Forged in the static of the DIY current, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 are a four-piece alt-rock/alt-punk band interlacing volatile and abrupt peaks of noise with delicate, sparse melody.

They create sound that revels in emotive anger alongside waves of melancholy hooks and repetition, carrying the same current that runs through their 2025 release ‘𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘛𝘰𝘰 𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘦’, recorded at D’shut (RIP).

Catch them setting the tone this Friday at The Grace Darling, in collision with 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 𝒙𝒊𝒂𝒐 and 𝑾𝑯𝑰𝑷! (formerly 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦).

Like a spirit conjured through divine chaos, 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒎 returns to The Grace — this time ascending the Crimson Altar. From Aotearoa’s shadows she channels the body as oracle, dance as divination, voice as exorcism. Her music is less performance than possession. Within the red light she reminds us, freedom is a feeling that begins in the flesh.

𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆!!! emerge with another seismic improv following the project’s live debut at Soft Centre. A live organism born from collaboration, the project mutates once more as Kavil Patel, Rohan Rebeiro, and Yunzero step into the ritual, pulling rhythm through the veil until it screams into ecstatic disorder.

Friday night, the veil parts 🌫️
