Queen Melisende of Jerusalem. Ruler in her Own Right, 1105-1161, was the first and unquestionably the most forceful of Jerusalem’s queens. She was not only the hereditary heir to the kingdom, she tenaciously defended her right to rule against both her husband and her son, weathering two attempts to side-line her, albeit more successfully the first time. She was praised for her wisdom and her administrative effectiveness. Although largely forgotten, she ought to be remembered alongside her contemporaries the Empress Mathilda and Eleanor of Aquitaine as one of the powerful women rulers of the 12th century. Empress Matilda 1102-1167, also known as (Maud) Matilda of England,
As she was close to have become England's first female king.

Matilda was the daughter of King Henry I of England and his Anglo-Scottish Queen Edith.
When Matilda was eight years old her parents sent her to Germany as the future bride of The Holy Roman Emperor Heinrich V. Matilda and Heinrich married when she was twelve to his twenty eight years. As a result of her marriage that was held at St Peter's Basilica, she was clearly crowned as the legitimate Queen of the Romans

Matilda would be Empress of the Holy Roman Empire, and also heir to the throne of England. She was the first woman to try to claim the English crown following the death of the Emperor at twenty three years old.
She later got married to the Count of Anjou Geoffrey V in 1128, called the Handsome, the Fair.
Matilda returned to England to claim her inheritance as Queen of England as a boost to the Norman dynasty after the death of her father King Henry I in 1135. Unfortunately a period of Anarchy‘ embroiled the country and Matilda didn’t win the Throne.

Robert the Bruce King of the Scots 1274-1329. Robert was one of the most famous warriors of his generation and eventually led the Kingdom of Scotland during the First War of Scottish Independence, against King Edward I of England who then ruled Scotland as a province of England. Edward I was known as Edward Longshanks and as the Hammer of the Scots, but Robert is still revered in Scotland as a national hero and a legend from medieval times.

Robert is also known as the outlaw King, as it was claimed that he murdered his closest political rival and he became a fugitive, hiding on the remote island of Rathlin off the north Irish coast. It was also said that the Irish forged a united link to fight a common enemy against England.
These stories call to be told in various popular books and Netflix biopics, "The Outlaw KING" , "Braveheart", Mel Gibson’s "William Wallace" and of course "Robert the Bruce" movie.

Both Robert the Bruce, King of the Scots and King Edward I, of England are both a 19th and a 20th Great Grand fathers to Norman and Bianca by seperate lines of decent.

In addition Isabella of Mar, the first wife of Robert the Bruce is the 19th and
Elizabeth de Burgh, his second wife is Norman and Bianca's 20th Great Grandmothers by seperate lines of decent.

King Robert III 1337–1406, born John Stewart, was King of Scots He was known primarily as John, Earl of Carrick before ascending the throne but later changed his name to Robert III probably in part to maintain the link back to Robert I, The Bruce who stood for Scottish independence, but also to disassociate himself from puppet King John Balliol an unpopular name reminding people too much of the bad old days.

Robert married Anabella Drummond and they had seven children, where their son became King James I of Scotland. Robert III also had at least two natural children from Lady Muriella Stewart De Keith.

Robert III's period of reign according to some was "disastrous" and was exemplified as he was crippled by a kick from a horse, hence the Lame King.

King Robert III of Scotland is Norman and Bianca's 16th Great Grandfather, but also both his first wife Queen Annabella is Norman and Bianca's 16th Great Grandmother and his second wife Lady Muriella Stewart De Keith is their 17th Great Grandmother by separate lines of decent.

Dorothea of Brandenburg 1431-1495 was a German Hohenzollern princess who became a Scandinavian queen by marriage under the Kalmar Union. She was Queen of Denmark, Norway and Sweden from her marriage to King Christopher III until Christopher died, she later married to Christian I, King of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Duke of Schleswig and Holstein, thus become an immediate imperial vassal of the Holy Roman Empire.
Dorothea's marriage ceremony was described as the most elaborate in Nordic medieval history, followed by her coronation as queen of the three kingdoms.
Dorothea was the mother of two future kings of Denmark: John and Frederick I, and she was also the mother of Margaret of Denmark who was Queen of Scotland by marriage to King James III.
Dorothea is also Norman and Bianca's 14th Great Grandmother.

Queen Urraca, the Reckless, Queen of Castile, León and Galicia, 1080-1126,
She claimed the imperial title as suo jure Empress of All Spain and Empress of All Galicia.

Urraca got married for political purposes in 1087 at the age of only eight years old. She married her cousin Raymond of Burgundy, but of course, she was nothing like a real wife. Sadly, Raymond died and she became the most famous widow of her times. Many noblemen wanted to marry her. As a woman who was modest and prudent and had a strong intuition with self-confidence, Urraca was aware of her power and beauty, and she knew how to use her feminine charm to achieve her goals.
The 30-year-old Urraca became queen following her reluctance to marry King Alfonso I of Aragon and Navarre.
As queen, Urraca rose to the challenges presented to her and her solutions were pragmatic ones,
Feminine, inspiring, and powerful – these three words could be sufficient to describe the queen whose rule transformed the position of women in medieval courts, her original stamp on society is felt until now, the queen’s reign also served as the legal precedent for the reigns of future queens.
Both Empress Urraca and Raymond of Burgundy are Norman and Bianca's 26th Grandparents.
