Around 1997 I had a very weird thing happening. I had loads of time and loads of money. And what happened? I went into a deep depression and slightly lost my mind for a while there. Wanderlust was signed to RCA and our debut album came and went and it was time for a second album, but the label wasn’t super clear if they were gonna release the second album or not. They were only clear on not letting us know where we stood and also letting us know we weren’t allowed to go anywhere else. We were in record deal jail. That’s a messed up place to be. My way of keeping my head slightly above mysterious waters was to take walks from morning till sundown with my Sony handicam. I would basically make a movie of my day, shooting about 10 to 20 seconds at a time throughout the city of Philadelphia. And then at the end of the day, I would call my friends Mark Getten and Nancy Falkow and they would come over and we would watch my day. I would’ve completely forget about all sections of my day if not for the clips showing up in the mini movie. And as usual, things were born out of the worst of times. I didn’t realize it, but I was becoming a bit of a filmmaker. I didn’t know it was called in-camera editing that I was doing. There wasn’t any post production or pre-production or even present production. It was just filming in real time. Anyway, I thought I would do that today while the family and I are in Brooklyn. They went to see Harry Potter uptown and I went to go, as they called it in hard days night, “parading”. So here it is, today: the movie. by @scotsax
