I run my own book publishing business, Balbardie Books.
But I don't do it alone. Meet my staff.

Name: Maisy.
Job title: Snack supervisor.

She is really excited for the launch of my next book, but only because she thought I said lunch, not launch!

Writing a story is only part one of a bigger process when you run your own business.

Finding the correct illustrator.
Editing the story.
Formatting the pages.
Translating it into Welsh.
Ordering sample copies from the printer.

Hopefully all of this aligns and I'll have a shiny new book to promote by November. 🤞⚽📚

We’ve been out location scouting… and there’s a new story taking shape. 👀🎬

GTF Films and The Burn are developing a high-end, two-season TV series for 2027/28—but what will it be? We’re keeping that under wraps for now. 🔥

With FOUR feature films, ONE feature documentary and now this exciting TV series in the pipeline, 2027/28 is shaping up to be something special.

We’re so excited to share the coming months with you—the places, the people and the stories we’re bringing to life.

And there’s special news coming TOMORROW EVENING. Keep your eyes on our pages!

What do you think we’ve been scouting for? 👇

The Burn is coming, and we’re signing up creators across Films, Music, Podcasts and Comedy. 🔥

We spent the weekend repping at the premiere of Jay Lee’s All or Nothing. Scotland’s hip-hop scene is full of talent, and we’re looking forward to bringing that energy onto the channel.

Filmmaker, musician, podcaster or comedian? If you’ve got something to share, get in touch: allyrobertson@gtffilms.com

Our towns. Our stories. Our people. Don’t Flix. Burn. 🔥

WOW. One year since we filmed those huge Powder scenes at Room at the Top. The club has since closed, which makes those nights feel even more special.

So many people turned up and gave us their time. I’m not naming names because I’d be here all day, but you know who you are. You helped make it happen. ❤️

Powder will help launch The Burn in the coming weeks. Then, in January, we’re bringing it to a cinema near you, with special guests and Q&As along the way. 🎬🔥

So much can happen in a year. Powder was only the start.

Keep an eye on our socials this week. We’ve got news to share, and you’ll get a glimpse of what’s coming next. It’s huge. 👀 #theBurnScotland #Powderthemovie #RATTBathgate #indiefilms taken in Scotland by @scott.fleming_actor_writer

🎬 TWO WAYS TO WATCH POWDER. ONE BIG SCOTTISH JOURNEY.

POWDER hits the cinemas this January and over the next month, we’ll be announcing the venues for our Scottish tour! 🍿

We’re starting at home in West Lothian, heading west, then up north before coming down through Dundee and Fife, across the bridge to Edinburgh… and back home to West Lothian.

This film deserves to be seen on the big screen. Get your pals together and be ready to book when tickets are released. 🔥

CAN’T WAIT UNTIL JANUARY?

For a limited time, you’ll also be able to watch POWDER online when THE BURN launches — Scotland’s new authentic streaming platform. And that’s happening very soon. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🔥

But we’re not finished yet…

🎵 The POWDER soundtrack is coming soon.
🎥 We’re heading away for a wee while to film our next GTF Films feature.

Exciting times — and our fans are right at the heart of it. Thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️

👇 How will you be watching POWDER: at the cinema, on The Burn… or both? Tell us below, and let us know which town you want us to visit!

My next book will be available in English and Welsh.
The translations are not complete yet, but here's a little look at one of the images.
The story is about Rex, a little dragon who dreams of playing for his favourite football team.
Illustrated by @tashnasalim ⭐.
