Met this legend today in a chance encounter on the streets of NYC. Never know who you'll run into when you attend a parade in their honor. by @scott1183

If you’re my friend in real life, please stop making these jokes that courtside WNBA finals tickets are $40. 🤣 You’re laughing while real women’s basketball fans are crying.
This is the actual, from-the-team price I was offered for 9 potential Golden State Valkyries home playoff games in the SIXTH ROW in San Francisco. This is only the second year of this franchise’s existence. It was the only seat available in the whole building. 🤯 by @scott1183

Did not make it to Puerto Rico for all-star weekend, so what was the first thing I did during the FIBA break? One guess. If you know me well, you know that I hate the beach, but I love watching the sun rise and set over it. It was supposed to be just for the day, but I wound up booking a (very) cheap hotel room (that was surprisingly very clean). Keep swiping to see the sunrise and sunset as well as a bunch more of what I ate, drank, smoked and saw in 24 hours on "el Isla del Encanto." by @scott1183

As we pull into the World Cup break, I have attended FIFTY games this season. I think it's safe to say I'm the superest super fan there is. My favorite part is how no one knows. I'm just watching all this basketball in peace. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 by @scott1183

The moratorium on white players has not been lifted, but I had to give it a week off.
On August 16th, Phoenix retired DT's number. Thus the shirt. Four days later, I had lunch with other Mercury floor STHs and at the end of this event every year, the team comes in to mingle a bit and thank the fans who are investing the most, frankly, so every player spends 5 minutes with each 2 tables of fans, taking pictures, signing autographs, shaking hands. If you sit on the floor in Phoenix, you've met the team. In fact, recently, we had an autograph signing. But this year is different because the Mercury had just traded for Kelsey Plum. Big star, obviously everyone is there anticipating meeting her for the first time. I'm at station 7 and she starts at 8. Cool, we're gonna be last, but everyone is meeting everyone, no problem. Well, our first player never came until the second rotation and, on the final rotation, Plum Dawg is just making it over to station 6. She got behind, must've been chatting, taking extra pictures, signing lots of stuff for the kids, missed one of her cues to switch, it happens with the nice ones. So, we're just looking at each other, wondering what's going to happen and a team staffer says, "don't worry, she'd never leave without coming over here." So, as assured, KP takes a couple extra minutes to greet us after this is officially over and she is the only autograph I was seeking, not for me, you guys know I don't get too excited, but as I tell Plum, "my season ticket neighbor in Brooklyn loves you and, because of the timing of the trade, they won't see you play in Brooklyn this summer, so this ball is for her, if you'd sign it." Without hesitation, this two-time gold medalist, two-time champion and forever legend, took the ball and replied, "what's her name? Man, you guys are brutal in New York, y'all boo the shit outta me." I told her, "not every one of us, I stopped booing you after the trade from the Aces." The Kelsey Plum villain arc is now completely dead as far as this Liberty superfan is concerned. The person I met is an angel. by @scott1183

+8=43 attended so far. A team plays 44 in a season and I've got 3-ish weeks of games left to get as many as I can. 🙏🏻 by @scott1183

4 more games this week makes for a nice even 35 as we pull into the All-Star break. If all goes according to plan, see you next week in LA to start the second half of a fun season. by @scott1183

You guys still pay for these things, but now that no one takes their shoes off and nothing comes outta bags, there's never a wait for standard screening and your line is sometimes longer than mine. by @scott1183

Some flight complications, should've been 8 in this 2 week period, but 6 more games makes it 31 so far. No one has played more than 25. Back to Joe's house for about 2 days. Big soccer game tomorrow night in the city, if you guys didn't know. Hopefully, back to basketball by Thursday. 🙏🏻 by @scott1183

Well, it happened, family. We missed a game due to a delayed flight. Thank God I didn't miss any games last year, I don't have a standing commitment to "every Liberty game" this year, just trying to attend as many total W games as possible. The final number will be "minus one" due to storms in Orlando preventing the timely departure of my connecting flight to Islip and thwarting my attempts to reach the cup final in Brooklyn and pop in on my dad for a night.
So, I pivoted, headed back west. It's like my mother-in-law used to (probably) always say, "when life hands you lemons, switch your flight to Vegas, get a good night's sleep at some fleabag casino and have a banana bread latte at the coffee shop in the Four Seasons lobby in the morning, you repugnant little son of a bitch." The last part, she said a lot. 🙃 by @scott1183

7 more games (in 8 days!) makes 25 for the season so far. No team has played more than 19. We missed the tip off Saturday in Phoenix because of a delayed flight, so we have the first play of the second half to mark our attendance. Gonna get some sleep this weekend and get back after it next week. by @scott1183

Currently in the only city on this planet where you can get a hotel room for $7 while a deodorant in the sundry shop will run you $9. by @scott1183
