This week’s #toysgetintoframe is this cool gorilla I’ve had since childhood. I got him at a county fair. He’s hollow plastic with articulation at the arms only. He fought my Allosaurus model kit a lot when I was a kid. There’s no markings on him so I don’t know who made him, I just know I like him. Thanks once again to @toywithmyfeelings for the inspiration; I nominate @sweatyvinyl to participate ( if you like).

Today’s #toysgetintoframe features this sofubi of Ultraman Leo by @planetxasia . He was the first toy I got in Japan last year . It was kind of cool being at @hakaba_gallery the day it was released and picking one up. It’s a great sofubi and looking at him brings back memories of the first full day in Japan, going through the shops at Nakano Broadway with @norman_c_england . Thanks again to @toywithmyfeelings for starting this exercise. I nominate @jason.crystal.74 to participate ( if you like).

It’s actually not 100 degrees out this morning, so after my dog and I went out for a while, I took some toys out among the rain lillies to take some pics before these magical little flowers disappear. Thanks once more to @plaguedearthproductions , @magitarius , @lastbastionstudios and @ukydaydreamer for the wonderful sofubi. I think Plague Terry, Steglar, and Griffin like it here.

I’m behind on my #toysgetintoframe posts, so here’s one. This is Crown Prince Gill, the main villain from the show Tiger 7. I found him last year while in Japan. I love his ancient Egyptian-influenced look, and the metallic patina on his robes. It’s hard to find stuff from this show, so I was very lucky to find him. Thanks again to @yodamasahico , and thanks to @toywithmyfeelings for this inspiration/challenge. I nominate @dirtmall_deadbeat to participate if you like.

I remember back in the 90s, getting our first CD player. Sass Jordan’s album Racine was an early purchase, and it got a lot of play. I can recall a nice Spring day, apartment windows open, playing it. The follow up, Rats, also got some airtime on the CD player as well. I’m sorry to say I kind of lost touch with her after that, musically speaking.
63 is too soon for someone to be gone. At least I can still put your music on , so your whiskey and silk vocals will live on. RIP, Sass.

Frankenstein was one of the first fictional characters I became attached to early in life ( around the age of three, I think). At first I liked him because he was a big scary monster, but as I got older I realized he was a tragic character as well.

A late edition of #toysgetintoframe , but here’s this great Cosmonaut by @dingy_dave . It really shows his skill at the craft of making art toys. It looks great in regular light, and when you hit it with UV light, it takes on a whole different aspect. This is the first proper toy I got from him. @dingy_dave is not only a skilled artist, but a great guy, too.
Thanks @toywithmyfeelings for this exercise, I nominate @sofubi_king to participate!

Sonic’s kids meals have some neat Universal Monsters toys right now. Creature from the Black Lagoon has suction cup hands so you can stick him to glass, and Wolfman is a mini plushie. Now I have to get Frankie and the Bride.

As it’s Batman Day, I felt it appropriate to visit my friend @batmanofsanantonio at his comic shop appearance today. Follow him, he’s an awesome guy that happens to have some badass outfits. 🤘🦇🤘

RIP Gerrit Graham. A fantastic character actor and one of the nicest celebrities I’ve met. Met him at a con and we chatted for almost a half an hour about Phantom of the Paradise.
