The world needs Jesus!

you don’t have to create art that has the entire message in it. That’s when our art becomes propaganda.

your job is to burn 🔥

when you do, you will create art, music, books, movies that also burn 🔥

my direct challenge to Christian creatives is be ready to share boldly gently and lovingly. Why do you have the hope that you have.

as creative, we love to speak in poetry. But to a world that’s hurting and desperately needs Jesus we have to know when to be clear.

sometimes clarity is kindness.

now let’s go and make some wild art that Burns 🔥

Lose the fun, lose the flow.

Sometimes the answer to a creative block isn’t more discipline, more strategy, or more pressure.

Sometimes you just need to play again.

Make something that doesn’t need to sell.
Try something you might be terrible at.
Make a mess. Follow your curiosity. Laugh a little.

God enjoys you. And I believe He enjoys creating with you.

If creating has felt unusually heavy lately, maybe don’t push harder. Go find the sandbox again.

You might be surprised how quickly the dam breaks.

Send this to a creative who needs permission to have fun again.

comment the word “fun” if you need a little boost in this area!

Not every beautiful thing needs to justify why it exists.

Sometimes obedience looks like saying something.

Sometimes it looks like making something.

Make it with excellence. Make it with freedom. Make it with a heart yielded to God.

And then…

let it speak like the burning bush.

As always, if you’re looking for more Christian creative friends I’m putting together something special for all of us. Comment “friends” below, and I will get you into the community!

It takes guts to make something.

It takes even more guts to let people see it.

In a world increasingly filled with the artificial, polished, filtered and perfected—I’m incredibly grateful for people willing to show us something human.

So here’s to the people making things. Keep going. We need what only you can make.

Send this to a creative you’re proud of today. Let them know you see them.

Some people have made us laugh in seasons when we really needed it.

That’s not a small gift.

Comedy takes observation, timing, courage, vulnerability and craft. And sometimes laughter really is good medicine.

So here’s to the comedians, the class clowns, the quick-witted friends, and the people who somehow find the funny in the middle of the heavy.

Your medium is laughter. Keep making art.

Send this to someone who makes you laugh and let ’em know you’re grateful they’re funny. 🥂

Maybe the most “Christian” thing about your art isn’t what it looks like.

Maybe it’s that it came from a child of God who was free enough to create it.

You don’t have to force the message.
You don’t have to explain every detail.
You don’t have to make it fit someone else’s definition of “Christian art.”

Walk closely with Jesus.

Then make the thing that’s in you to make.

Get out of the boat.
What would you create if you stopped feeling like you had to justify it?

Some of the things you’ve been trying to “mature out of” might actually be things God put in you on purpose.

Your curiosity. Your peculiarities. Your strange sense of humor. The unusual way you see the world. The things that fascinate you that nobody else seems to notice.

Of course, following Jesus changes us.

But **sanctification is not homogenization.**

Becoming more like Jesus doesn’t mean becoming a generic, polished, professional version of everybody else.

God isn’t put off by your peculiarity.

Maybe it’s time to open the door to the weird house again.

**What’s something wonderfully weird about you that you refuse to lose?**

what if some of your best work is waiting on the right friendship?

Creative people need creative friends.

People who understand the weird idea before it makes sense.
People who will challenge you, sharpen you, encourage you, and remind you to keep going when you’re ready to quit.

I think a lot of us have the creativity—we’re just missing the community.

So I’m working on something to help change that.

If you’ve been wishing you had more creative people in your life, comment **FRIENDS** and I’ll send something your way.

And tag a creative friend who has made you better. 🤝

Fascinating or fascinated; Which would you choose if you had to choose one?

Some people wonder where their spark and childlike wonder went. From my experience it’s very hard to live fascinated when you’re concerned with being fascinating. that’s not to say you are arrogant or full of yourself. There’s just a good chance that you have felt the pressure from the world to be fascinated.

One of my favorite things to do is help people recapture that sense of childlike wonder and curiosity again. It’s such an important work to me because I truly believe that fascinated people change the world.

Send this to a blue-collar person you’re grateful for. Maybe they need to be reminded today that their work matters—and that somebody is watching.
An ode to the blue collar. 🛠️
