It’s hard to believe this was taken 8 years ago. I truly miss living a few blocks from the pier. I miss getting up before dark and running down to the structure. I honestly was always a little spooked paddling out there when it was still dark and there were only 2-3 hard core people out. I know the predators are always there but there is something about dark ocean that makes my hair stand up. The spot filled up quick once first light hit and the sun came up, but there were always a few minutes you could have your choice of the set waves before it got too crowded. I was blessed to be able to get out there before work most days. I remember the stoke of looking at Void Surf Report and sometimes seeing yourself on it. This pic was by Mikey Sasser, who always there. After several years I began to take it for granted, and would sleep in on good days. Now that I don’t live by the beach i realize how lucky I was. To anyone reading this and lives by the beach, go surf at sunrise for me. Or at least go check it. It is always worth to see the sunrise over the sea. The move is temporary, I’ll be back soon with a new outlook. taken in Florida by @scottcretul
