Dear Dad,

Seeing you today was both a blessing and a heartbreak beyond words. It brought me a moment of peace, yet shattered what was left of my heart. You looked so handsome, so calm, as though the storms of suffering had finally passed and you had found the rest you so deeply deserved.

As I stood beside you, holding your hand for the last time, time seemed to stand still. I spoke to you, kissed your forehead, and whispered goodbye, knowing that my words could never carry the depth of what lived within my heart. It was the most profound moment of my life, beautiful in its love, devastating in its finality.
The pain of losing you is like an ocean that rises with each passing day. I carry it everywhere I go. Yet within that sorrow lives a love so immense that even death cannot diminish it. You were not only my father; you were my guide, my strength, my safe place, and a part of me that can never be replaced.

Though my heart aches for one more conversation, one more laugh, one more embrace, I find comfort in knowing that you are at peace. And while I must now walk this path without you beside me, I will never walk it without your love. It is woven into every memory, every lesson, and every part of the man I have become.
Until the day we meet again, I will cherish every moment we shared and hold them close to my heart. I will look for you in the quiet sunsets, in the warmth of familiar memories, and in the love you left behind.

A week after losing you Dad, the pain is still sharp in a way I can't soften. It hits me in waves that feel unfair, like the world keeps demanding I carry on while something inside me is still shattered. I wake up every day with the same heavy realisation that he's gone, and it's like my chest forgets how to breathe for a moment. I miss his voice, his presence, the way he grounded me without even trying. The grief hasn't settled, it's still wild and messy, still catching me off guard in the smallest moments. It's only been a week, but the emptiness you left behind feels impossibly deep, and I'm still trying to understand how I'm meant to live in a world you're no longer in.

To my dad, my best friend, a wonderful grandad and most importantly an amazing human.

Where to start. There are no words that could ever do justice to the heartbreak and pain I feel and will continue to do so in your absence. Your courage throughout this battle is something I will always admire and hold deeply within my heart. You kept on smiling and putting on a brave face when I know how much life was getting you down. This cancer was one fight too many for the mighty man you are and always will be.

You are the only man I have ever admired, adored, wanted to impress, your nod of approval and congratulations throughout my life meant more than I ever gave you credit for. Knowing I'll never hear your voice again kills me deeply inside. You are a person that many people loved and you will be very dearly missed.

You no longer have to suffer the unbearable pain and I hope you can rest peacefully.

Without you, a piece of me will forever be missing, and I cannot wait to reunited with you when the time comes.
