I recently sat down with @barbrajdillon , Editor-in-Chief of @fanbasepress , to talk about independent comics and Fanbase Press's new Kickstarter campaign for the collected edition of SHRUB.
Written by Emmy Award-nominated writer Shane Portman, SHRUB explores grief and the ways we allow it to “take root,” inspired by Shane's own experience with the loss of his father.
We also talk about Fanbase Press, independent publishing, and the work that goes into bringing projects like this to readers.
Watch the full interview through the link in my bio.

Happy Batman Day! 🦇

Apparently I've drawn a lot of Batmen over the years.

So for Batman Day, I thought it would be fun to put a few of them together—from the Batman serials of the 1940s all the way to Robert Pattinson.

Seven Batmen. Seven very different takes on the character.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with @monibarre for a conversation about comics, libraries, and the importance of getting graphic novels into the hands of readers.

Looks like @dcofficial @supergirl and Krypto are having a pretty good weekend.

With Supergirl now streaming on @hbomax and getting a lot of attention, I thought it was a good time to pull out a couple of marker pieces I created featuring Supergirl and Krypto.

I've been doing more superhero marker artwork lately, and these two were a lot of fun—especially Krypto.

Which one do you prefer: Supergirl or Krypto?

I've always liked the challenge of starting with an existing comic book cover design and figuring out how to make my artwork become part of it.

For Detective Comics #575, I started with the blank red cover and built the piece from the initial pencils through the finished painting.

This is the first of several blank sketch covers I'll be painting, so I'll be sharing more of these as they come together.

Here's how this one came together.

SIDETRACKED IS FUNDED!

And there are still a few hours left to be part of the campaign.

The $5,000 goal has been reached. The book is happening.

Thank you to everyone who believed in SIDETRACKED and supported my work to get it here.

If you've been following along and still want to join the campaign, there's still time.

Anything raised during these final hours goes beyond the original goal and helps make SIDETRACKED even stronger.

The campaign ends tonight at 11:30 CST.

And most importantly:

Thank you.

SIDETRACKED IS FUNDED!

101%.

Thank you to every single person who believed in SIDETRACKED, supported my work, backed the campaign, shared it, talked about it, and helped get the project across the finish line.

There were moments when I wasn't sure it was going to get there.

But it did.

SIDETRACKED is happening.

Your support means more to me than I can adequately put into words.

80% FUNDED!

We're getting close.

Thanks to everyone who has supported SIDETRACKED, we've now reached 80% of our $5,000 goal.

There is less than that $1,000 stands between us and the finish line and 48 hours left.

If you've been following along and thinking about joining the campaign, this is the time.

Every pledge gets us closer.

We've come a long way together.

Let's finish this together.
