A collection of some of my favourite images from 2024 (part one).

Lots of miles covered this year across a few different industries. Thanks to everyone that I worked with and collaborated with this year, it's been a lot of fun!

Looking forward to 2025 starting in Mexico.

🌟November and a cover for this hole, mystery isle axe and Scottish wifie.

🎉Thank you @outdoorswimmer for a second cold front cover - this time from a wee trip of mine up high over 5 years ago. Blimey time flies. This was Feb 2021 - and the coldest winter on record in over 10 years. We'd never seen ice like it.

🎥Incredible day for this one - full safety and film crew and the result was an award-winning short film called Zero°. If you'd like to see it, drop a message and I will send you the 🔗 it's hard to find on YouTube!) Actually I'll add it to the bio and you can find it there. GIVE it a watch if you like holey water.

❤️That winter, a bunch of hardy, conditioned northern swimmers and I raised over £40k for Crisis, a homeless charity, swimming every day for those who really have a hard time in winter; we had a choice to get cold. This dip was one of them.

Anyway, out from the memory vaults and onto a cover it goes again.

This one means quite a lot to me, a frozen hole in ice within a mountain, formed from ice thousands of years ago.

The magazine for November is a brilliant one. If you are cold water curious and looking for some inspo get it ordered (or buy my book for all the good stuff)

Here’s the run down on the photos…

1. Cover of @outdoorswimmer
2. Recce with Scott in the Autumn to see what's what
3. The post-dip hooray with axe from the middle isle
4. Most beautiful ice sculptures, grass bound in frozen water forming much like a limestone stalactite!
5. My trusty team and pro safety crew enjoying a dip post-shoot and having a great time 😉
6. I mean come on it's amazing!
7. The beck from the tarn still flowing under the ice crust.

Really fortunate to have perfect conditions for this one.

‼️Behind the scenes were a pro water and mountain safety team - best not to try this one kids.

I'm really excited to have one of my favourite images used for the front cover of @outdoorswimmer Magazine.

The image is of @gillymcarthur and was taken whilst we were filming for our short film Zero° a few years ago.

Shot on a completely frozen over high tarn.

Check out the next slides for a little bit of cold ass BTS 🥶

If you'd like to watch Zero° DM for the link 🔗

A little bit of BTS of me taking photos out on the ice. Thanks to @charliewoodburn 📸

Me getting in the ice hole 🥶 You've got to embrace your subject matter.

I'm pretty sure Gilly might have thrown me in anyway though 🤭

Hammer time.

A huge thank you to @mike_stout_tattoo for making my dream come true.

I'm just in awe of how wonderful this is. I gave Mike a hefty list of things I'd like to include in one tattoo and he's nailed them all and added more.

I shot a few details on my phone throughout the two days. Mainly just to document the process for myself but I thought I'd share some as well.

I've always wanted a little gaggle of dino friends to take on adventures. Vamos!

Some new work for my marvellous friend @gillymcarthur

We went for a potter and a chinwag and managed to find some water left in the Lake District.

A great way to spend the afternoon.

A tiny island off Norway’s west coast.

For the past few weeks, a strong northerly wind has blown straight from the Arctic, cooling the sea to just 10°C.

At the same time, southern Europe has been battling intense heat and devastating wildfires.

One continent. Two very different realities.

📌 Utvær – the most westerly island in Norway.

Many thanks to @swimtrek, to @fallowspaul for keeping me safe in the water, and to @scottmsaltphoto for the beautiful footage. by @scottmsaltphoto

Last weekend was my second year shooting for Love Trails festival on the Gower Peninsula.

I was out on trails and off-site activities more this year and was in my element. From 27km coastal races to a super chilled bird watching excursion, hike to sea swims and night runs.

A massive thanks to the team for having me along again and looking after us so well.

Random conversations, new pals, new work and a lot of playing out. 100% not shit.

Some more playing around with Anamorphic.
This time after dark in Leeds city centre on a pretty quiet night.

I wanted to experiment with multiple elements to see what I can expect to get out of it. How it looks at certain T Stops, how smooth shifting focus is and the overall look and feel after dark.

Do you have a favourite shot?
